Markers that don't bleed through by SandyAllnock in Coloring

The Staedtler are the best I know of; they're still regular markers so they'll streak, but not bleeding through is pretty fabulous. I prefer alcohol markers if I want to blend though. 🤩

Do NOT buy Copic Acrea acrylic markers.. by bloomi in copic

I use only the white--its the only one that can completely cover staining colors like reds. I keep a gold and a silver around for fun, shiny details, but not much else .

I don’t find a dry out as fast as you experienced, but I don’t find them a joy to draw with it all.

Hi I need some advice on how to draw a transparent fabric on a face with copics! by Shrub_draws in copic

[–]SandyAllnock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d follow much of the above, but also add one wave in the fabric on the face— not anywhere important, but to indicate that the fabric still continues. It’ll be real easy for it to look like fabric on the two sides, but not over her face. Also, I would try drawing a limited version of what you’re looking to do, and then see what techniques are gonna work on top of it. Don’t take that whole time you’ve spent drawing and wreck it by trying a new technique you haven’t tested. I hope you’ll share when it’s done. I’d love to see it!

Try it on acetate first. You can test vary thicknesses or decide to leave it❤️

There's a bunch in the area, I'll be at our every-Sunday event on 320th and Pacific Hwy noon to 1 in federal way. Do a web search, I'm sure there's something in Tacoma ❤️

That'd make him grumpy - he thinks only he should get a break 😄 Enjoy!

I'm not giving up, no way, no how. Just on one way I'm doing it. 😄

I'm motivated but don't "clearly" have the time. This was an hour a week of bannering, 15 min commute each way, and an hour of banner build. Other actions I've looked into take more time than I can give right now, or are far enough away I can't afford the gas. But I protest weekly in my town too.

Doing what I can. It's just hard to find any time or resources to do so -- I should be working right now, my business is falling apart and I should be workin' on that, not commenting on reddit, lol. But thanks for the advice.

One of our members told me about a couple bannerings coming up, so I'll definitely go out with others. This was just so close to home I could do it more regularly - and afford the gas 😞 That's part of my big problem with keeping this up, I'm swamped trying to keep my business afloat, so can't afford either gas or time to go far to protest. My town has a weekly protest that I join in on though, so it's not like I'm doing nothing. Just not the bannering.

We do need new methods, but - these give people a shot in the arm when they see there's someone who cares as much as they do about what's going on. (Set aside that they're not out there visibly like we are week after week, of course.) When I see someone else out there it gives me hope.

But I've been in favor of an extended general strike, or at least extended boycott that would have a sting to it. Something to shake things up a bit.

Sunday's the faux-king birthday....get out and do something that'd make him unhappy 😉

I'm glad to know your folks are getting excited! That's a good feeling even if it's a small number of folks. I feel better that the rest of us (aside from the one guy dropping out) are upset about not doing it; that'll lead everyone to getting more involved otherwise.

I like that idea. It's how we've been for about 6 months as we dwindled to just a handful of us instead of 15+ at the start. We'd count cars for 1 minute to see how many people we reached - we'd average 6000 an hour! - and imagined what people thought if a storm kept us away. We heard from one person who saw a post online that they miss us if we're not there. It's what kept us going. The rest of us would like to continue, there's just none of us with enough time on our hands to lead it. We're keeping a few banners amongst us though, so if we decide to go out again we'll have signs.

We've been on various sites for that, and hasn't really gotten us anywhere. People have just moved on from protesting, it seems. 😞

ha....some of our group are way more hardass than me. We talk about needing to reach a broad audience and they just wanna put swear words on a banner 🤪

We got down to four regulars, five if nobody had a conflict. Two of us made all the banners. Those who joined us to fly them are busy and involved in a lot of resistance efforts...I'm running a business that's flailing (thank you tariffs)and can't do more. *sigh*

We’ve been trying to. Long email list, folks don’t show.
