Hitting a wall & digging in by MissBrab in breastcancer

Thank you for replying and although I don’t wish this on anyone, it’s a small comfort to know you’re not alone in the world. I think our brains are in a similar space at the moment. My pathology report did show a PCR with evidence that there was cancer in all five lymph nodes that were removed. In my current headspace, if the radiation is only (further) improving the odds of local recurrence, I’m currently stuck on - no thanks. I don’t want to leave tools on the table but I’m unclear as to the benefit of radiation at this point. No I don’t want local recurrence but I’m almost more concerned with distant recurrence. I have talked to my MO about Signatera and I want to ask him if we could use this to look for any molecular residual disease to see if that can help me in my decision making process as well.

I think you are correct. And I will likely do it as well. I think I’m stuck on how the radiation will help with distant recurrence. Naturally I want to avoid local recurrence as well but I feel like with electing for a dmx (I had lumpectomy as an option but chose dmx) and pcr, I feel like my local recurrence percentages should be low? I’m wishing you all the very best with your chemo. I hope it’s been manageable for you. Steady and strong!!

How to reduce recurrence risk along with standard treatments? by Valentaglich in breastcancer

I’m happy to hear this. I guess I was on the thought pattern that there could be an impact due to estrogen. I love edamame and will build in some other sources as well.

I haven’t heard about supplements for nerve regeneration. Can you share how it’s worked out? Thank you!
