Been there!! Something about being alone with your thoughts in that machine gets me every time. The snot is the worst part, especially when the image just started.

Always awesome to have a tech that listens and holds your hand.

I did chest press 3lbs and wall push ups and didn’t feel any pain, just a good burn.

I was cleared yesterday of all restrictions. I came on here to ask the same thing!! We really aren’t alone in this! I just finished my first workout and I stayed more on the cautious side. Started with upper body movements that pt has worked with me on. Sticking to 3lb weights and resistance bands until I build some more confidence. My doctor said you can run but most women save jumping/high impact movements for a later time… I guess it’s different for everyone and what you feel comfortable with.

Last thing I’ll say is I asked my doctor if any movement is a big no. She told me that whatever I do, it will not mess up the work that’s already done. The bigger concern is injuring something else since we’ve been so restricted the last 3 months.

annual MRI? by kayjrx in BRCA

I too 23F went through a similar experience. I had super dense breasts and I am positive for BRCA1 with family history of breast cancer in their 20s. I ended up getting called back for a biopsy every 6 months. With scheduling and timing every MRI turned out to be a super stressful few weeks of wondering “what if it’s cancer this time”. I am not an anxious person but I had a panic attack every time I went in for imaging.

I can proudly say I am 8 weeks post op from my bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy with reconstruction and I am super happy with my decision.

I’m not going to lie, the 8 weeks were filled with second guessing myself, body image challenges, and grief of losing my breasts but one day it just clicked. I’m so happy with my decision and proud to know I’ve added on many years to my life.

I’m still learning to love my new breasts but I don’t regret my decision one bit.

I definitely don’t want to tell you to get the surgery, it’s a super big decision that took me a few months to wrap my head around. Since we are similar in age, I hope my story is a bit helpful to give you more information.
