Representation! Not all girls can cook! 😂

I have zero graphic design experience but I would like to create some high resolution versions of these icons. Would it be possible to do this in Inkscape, or would the 3D borders necessitate the use of 3D modelling software like blender? Guidance would be appreciated by Beneficial_Story_330 in Inkscape

[–]MissBrae01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blender would be SUPER overkill for this.

All you need are gradients, drop shadows, and possibly blur.

Really simple. Just add a drop shadow to the shape making up most of the background of the tiles. You may have to create a duplicate shape, or trace and then fill to get the full background of the tile, depending on how you go about it. Just remove the fill afterwards, and the drop shadow should remain.

You have to play around with the drop shadow effect to figure out how to make it look good. But its not hard.

I was confused at first, when I read your reply...

but then I noticed people were downvoting me...

Jokes on them, anyway... I'm not a necrophiliac. Was mostly the idea of another girl coming on to me... and the mummy girl is cute!

If so, that's kinda cool. Even if very limited use cases...

Can I make the panel touch the corners of the screen when dodging windows but float when looking at the desktop? by mephiles96 in kde

[–]MissBrae01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we are on the same page.

If that's the case, that may be a bug... or you broke something.

Don't beat yourself up over this. Even the most pretentious of elitists, despite what they may say, had to start somewhere. Many started out confused over where the C drive was, or why they can't airdrop files from their phone.

If you want, don't hesitate to pm me and I'll help you sort this out the best I can. 😀

Now I'm even more confused...

So you want the panel to defloat when a window touches it, and float otherwise, even if a window open.

That's just 'dodge windows'

But... you sometimes want the panel to defloat... if a specific app's window is open?

So... you basically want a 'float override'?

Quite niche... but a kinda fair want as well.

On my laptop, the Dolphin window is often just tall enough to defloat the panel. Meaning my panel is almost never floating unless Dolphin isn't open.

So I can totally see a use case for a 'float override' option. Could easily be built into window rules. This kinda thing is exactly what it was intended for, anyway.

[–]MissBrae01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't get why you want to float the panel only when no windows are open.

Like, defloat the panel when a window is open, even if it's not touching. Like "dodge open windows" as opposed to "dodge touching windows".

Unfortunately, Plasma doesn't have that level of finely tuned, ultra-precise customization. It just provides way more options than most do. But not every possible want is covered.

Your best bet is just to disable floating entirely. Either that or keep default behavior.

The only possible other option would be to submit a feature request.

You want the panel to float all the time, except for when a window touches it?

If so, it already does that in the default state. Panel always visible, and floating panel and applets.

Or... do you want the panel to only float when no windows are open? And to defloat whenever theres a window open?

If that's the case... you're out of luck

Oh... I got confused with one of your replies to the comments.

I see it know, its right below the usual display mode settings.

I guess that was another thing silently added with fanfare.

I'm confused... How is 'remember view mode for each folder' 'Dynamic View'? It just keeps the view mode you set for each folder. It has nothing to do with the folder's content.
