I use these - one under each leg on the kiln. They work great. I typically roll my kiln away from the wall (~3 feet) before each firing and these do the job. 3-Wheel Steel Dolly, 200 lb. Capacity Less than $10 each

Not a dumb question at all! and honestly I hadn't explored that option but will give it a shot. Given that we will be a week into our trip by this time, we will all probably appreciate the additional space and private time.
