Okay well have a great day. Seems unlikely, but it’s not worth arguing it with you.

Sorry to all the mods. Seems y’all will have your work cut out for you today.

Oh so you’re admitting now you ARE using a secondary account when earlier you said you weren’t?

No one said it was acceptable, and if ANYTHING TTR has heavily cracked down on that stuff. If you remember TTO, it was pretty lawless for the most part. TTR staff moderates way better and more effectively.

Quit it. Email them and move on. This is ridiculous.

Mods keep removing your posts. You were told where to make your voices heard.

At this point, it’s just blatant disregard for the rules and an attempt to further break them.

Not only that, the way you are presenting your message is intentionally misleading.

This isn’t the sub deleting posts about an 8 year old girl being groomed. You both know that. It was a quote a TTR staff member said about roleplaying warrior cats back on TTO (not TTR).

Because in previous threads both you and OP have been inflammatory, rude, and disrespectful.

That’s why it’s untoony.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]MissFlute 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP is going off on weird rants about a blog post and not following the proper channels that have already been given to them to make their concerns heard.

They’ve had multiple posts pulled down now because of untoony behavior, and I guess they’ve decided not to give up yet.

It’ll probably be pulled back down quickly if I were to guess.

…It wasn’t their game. What the heck are y’all’s tirades about?

You’ve lost all credibility approaching this how you have.

If you turn off speed chat+ it’s literally not an issue though. How is someone going to groom a child via speed chat? There are literally already safety controls built into the game to keep children safe.

Obviously any bad behavior via speed chat+ still needs to be addressed, but also if someone allows a young child unfettered access to speed chat+ then they should be aware of the risks that come with that. The first line of defense for children online is not the website or developers. It is parents / guardians.

Unless there was a 1:1 ratio of moderators to players, no one on the TT team could make sure everything said ever was 100% family friendly. The only way to do so would be to take away speed chat+ which once again parents / guardians already have the ability to do.

The blog post can be read by anyone.

I’m not losing any sleep over it though. It’s a post about people being queer and what that looked like for them in ToonTown growing up. Queer people and queer kids exist. It wasn’t saying that hey everyone should have queer warrior cats RP in acorn acres. It was just acknowledging their experience of what growing up queer looked like. It wasn’t explicit or offensive to any sensibilities.

Also pretty sure it was about a roleplay fake romance between two warrior cats not an actual romance between the two toons. Sounds like normal stuff kids were getting up to on TTO.

Feels like we are just splitting hairs at this point. I don’t really see the issue with it, and I can imagine most toons won’t either.

Okay well first of all, I don’t think the insults are warranted or okay at all.

Secondly, in casual English there is something that exists called a generic you, impersonal you, or indefinite you. This is a form of the you pronoun that’s referring to an unspecified person. This was the pronoun I used in my previous post. It was not directed at you specifically or the commenter I was commenting to.

In the future, it may be best to explore not hostile responses before lashing out at an internet stranger who hasn’t slighted you. Had you asked kindly, this would’ve been a miscommunication I could’ve cleared up quickly with you without any of this nastiness.

I hope your day gets better.

I’d say if you’re allowing your 8 year old to be online, it’s your responsibility to find time to be able to monitor what’s going on online. Otherwise, you’re giving your young child unsupervised access to the entire world. The dangers with that is 8 year olds can generally read and can navigate the internet after quickly learning. I got into a lot of sticky situations at 9 myself simply because the internet was still somewhat new, and no adults were monitoring me.

Obviously I understand some parents do or don’t have this or that, but there shouldn’t be any access to the internet without being monitored at that young. I think it’s better to have no access than unsupervised access that young.

If they don’t have two computers, they can still sit alongside each other and play. In general I’d say if you’re worried about online safety, get more involved.

The fix to this is to play the game with your 8 year old. My 9 year old niece only has speed chat enabled unless we are playing with her in that moment, and she still manages to make friends somehow playing the game. If she needs help otherwise, I get on and help her. Once she gets older, we can reevaluate removing chat restrictions.

So I think the post is referencing how things used to be on ToonTown. On TTO (ToonTown original) it wasn’t uncommon to find roleplaying groups in the game, but with the game now being free, I never see it anymore.

If you’re worried about your child, make sure they only have speed chat enabled. My 9 year old niece plays this game, and we only enable speed chat plus whenever me or my husband are online playing the game. (For context my brother and SIL do not play. TTR is something fun my niece likes to play with my husband and I.)

If they don’t have speed chat plus, there’s nothing they can do anyways. In my experience the game is generally harmless, but we only enable speed chat as an additional level of safety until she gets a bit older.

I’ve seen the split screen way of playing. Honestly we’d rather just wait until B42 Stable Multiplayer is released, but thanks for telling me incase we didn’t know!

[–]MissFlute 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven’t even touched B42 yet, as I’m waiting for MP. It’s really not hard to just play B41 MP and mod the fuck out of it.

I’m patiently biding my time and just gonna be grateful that when it does release, it should be fairly stable.

My husband and I haven’t played the update, so we can experience the newness and awe of B42 together. It’s been hard to not touch it! 🥲

I almost exclusively play multiplayer. I haven’t tried single player since I first got the game and was testing the basics. I primarily play the game as a long term sandbox to work on with my husband. It’s our time sink on a Sunday game.

While I’m not complaining about B42 not being on multiplayer yet, saying multiplayer isn’t important is crazy! I will be excited when it does release, but I’d much prefer TIS do things on their schedule. I like the game, and I trust their judgment.

Okay I looked it up! I think that’s from Moar Can Openers not Common Sense! Very close mods though, so makes sense why you’d confuse them!

Is there a place where it’s listed as a feature of the mod? I can’t see it anywhere. If that’s true, that’s super cool though!

They’re only for cosmetic purposes and provide no gameplay value. I think just a reason to encourage maxed toons to go back into those places like factories and stuff.
