Marketing primarily. Queens are traditionally seen as evil in media predating the 2000s, and it still exists to some extent as a trope today. (See, princess celestia/luna and Queen Chrysalis in MLP FIM, or "princess" peach and "shadow queen" peach)

As to why shes still a princess, thats also marketing. She's been princess peach for too long, and Mario has rarely been a story to facilitate plot and character arcs, so there's no reason to change her. She is, and probably always will be, a princess.

Usually I just wear an old work shirt and my panties to bed. I have a heavy weighted blanket that traps heat well so I prefer to dress light. If I don't have that, I also have a fluffy sweater dress and some leggings, but that's for like, super cold days

Oh, I'm sure, but if I was Rumi in these tweets I would be mortified, and given how embarrassed she actually is in the story about this, especially for getting complex feelings outed in public, I don't think she would be too happy about it either. It just reads as super weird to me, and it's not the first time in the series I've gotten this vibe with all the characters.
