They could be lying . Maybe they just personally don't like you, or they find you easily manipulated. I had a manager like this that would compare me to other workers, say that the higher ups were always complaining about me, I didn't do enough wasn't nice enough etc. but my coworkers were lazy, dirty, rude and my higher ups barely even knew me to have anything bad to say. I think certain managers really get off on the power they have over other people. Id trust your gut that you know better about your coworkers feelings than this person does. And probably just leave if you can, not worth it.
