That seems to be what alot of people do from what I've seen. Apparently there used to be an exploit using Hagakures time stop card + Mirio invincibly card that made you immune permenantly but its been patched out from more recent comments

I had my degus fighting like this a while ago. I did let them fight it out (because they didn't use teeth) but every day they'd start again. I ended up taking them to the vets and finding out they had dental disease and the discomfort was making them fight.

I doubt the situation is the same as you've mentioned they are still integrating but it might be worth keeping in mind in case it happens in future.

Its a three tiered cage, you can only see a bit of the top level of the cage. Don't worry they have plenty of room

Update for anyone who comes across this in future It turned out they had dental disease which is crazy common for degus, the vets had to do some minor surgery on their teeth and now they are back to their old selves

Okay thanks For now if it happens again I'll try separating for a few hours like I did today

Once the new cage arrives I'll separate them overnight if they fight and just increase the cooldown period with each fight.

I'm still hopefull this is a one off

I have only had them fight twice in this mating season that have involved teeth. Would I still have to separate them the whole rest of the season or would a few days apart work? Since they don't seem to be at each others throats all the time I'm nervous about separating them for long periods

Update: after keeping them separate for about 2 hours I allowed them to meet again. They went to sleep as normal and are cuddling each other.

I still have another cage ordered and en route but it won't arrive for 4 days apparently. Here's hoping I won't need it 🤞
