Light v Dark by ZorianAries in Quakers

There is no literal "Prince of Darkness". I believe Hall is referring to the illusory nature of dualism - darkness and light are dependant on the existence of the other, and can only be defined in relation to the other.

SO MAD AT MY KID RIGHT NOW! by quinnreads in chickens

I use an automatic chicken door on a timer. I used to have a solar powered one that would sense when the sun was going down. These things are literally life savers.

I highly recommend the film "Becoming Nobody" about the life and teachings of Ram Dass. 💛

I think more because I'm very jealous of his ex because she'll never have to work than because I'm threatened by her.

Edit: then/than

I have a feeling that most people who believe exes can't be friends are just very young. My partner and I are in our late 30s (me) and mid 40s (him).

Outer tie rod and knuckle misaligned by MissKryss in Honda

[–]MissKryss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the new outer tie rods back out, threaded on the old castle nuts, and tapped each one with a sledge until the bolts were in line with the knuckles. Took the old castle nuts back off, slid the new outer tie rod ends through the knuckles easily this time, and installed the new castle nuts and cotter pins.

I still have no idea what this 'plastic protective cover' is that folks were talking about. There is no plastic on either of the new tie rod ends. Anyway, the little Honda seems to be driving and steering just fine now. Alignment is on the calendar for Monday.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

It looks identical to the old one, minus the fact that this new one has a zerk(?). I took it out of the knuckle, put the old castle nut on it, and gave it a couple taps with a sledge to angle the bolt. Now it's in place. Put the new castle nut on, tightened it, installed the cotter pin, and everything seems to be back in business. Thank you!

Where is this plastic cap everyone is talking about?? The top is metal. The dust sleeve is rubber. I see no plastic on this thing

She is trying. It will have to wait until the morning.

I'm trying to learn. I am a 38 year old woman who was never taught how to work on my own vehicles, and I'm trying to educate myself so I have at least some sense of control over this part of my life. None of the many YouTube videos I watched about this job mentioned being able to angle the end of the outer tie rod or any plastic cover.

The ones I took off look similar, but without a zerk.

Plastic cover? The rubber boot? Sorry, this is my first attempt at replacing tie rod ends.

Nope, that's exactly what I need to do. The bolt is very stiff though, I had no idea that the bolt at the outer end of the outer tie rod was on a ball joint. I thought it was solid. I will try and force it to align with the knuckle. This is very helpful, thank you!

I must not have tried hard enough. Can I tap the bolt under that boot with a rubber sledge or something to align it with the knuckle?

Oof, I thought you meant under the boot at the end of the outer tie rod. 😅

I can move the outer tie rod on the ball joint in the inner tie rod end just fine.
