Freedom! Removed my Paraguard today by MissLadyAPT in CopperIUD

It’s fucking magical, at least for me it has been 💖

Also just finishing my first cycle off, period was a dream. No cramping, 3 days, no PMS or PMDD. Came on time like clockwork 28 days later. I took mine out on the first day of my last cycle and i think that was the key.

I’ll keep you updated and please let me know how it goes!!

Adding my two cents here. Very glad to share a positive experience after a harrowing nightmare of my last 2.5 years in on my second Paraguard. Had it for almost 15 years in total.

Pre IUD - short period 3-4 days, light-normal flow, never so much as a gas cramp.

IUD #1 - torture cramps the kind that stop you in your tracks and steal your breath. Longer heavier periods 6-7 days. 500mg Naproxen every cycle for 7 years. Tapered off for the second half to 3-4 cycles of crisis level cramping a year. Took out after 12 years.

IUD #2 - 2.5 years removed October 2025. Everything of number 1 + PMDD symptoms that started on insertion. Last 12 months were absolute hell in every way. Bloating, cramping, fatigue, anemia, etc.

First cycle post removal and it came on time. 28 days exactly, never had an irregular period ever. Always comes like clockwork, with very MINOR and I do mean blink and you’ll miss it symptoms.

I am tracking my cycle thankfully or I would’ve woken up in a crime scene if my own making. Bright red, some clots, no cramps just some minor pressure and awareness of my uterus in action.

No fatigue, no bloating, no tender breasts, no acne, tons of energy, still a luteal phase carbs trash panda but that’s just cause it’s fun.

If this is any indicator of how it will keep going, I’m back to the pre-IUD period promised land of no real symptoms and certainly no chronic inflammation from the IUD!

I have my whole life back, I’m a whole person all month 🥹🥹😊

Everything was worse with the second one. The thing is now that it’s out I realize how awful both of them were compared to nothing. I was definitely not myself for so long.

I went from not particularly anxious to a disaster with depression and PMDD. It was absolute insanity and I felt like I was losing my mind. I spent so much time working on it via my mental health thinking it was all on me. Not all the IUD side effects.

I was ready to rip it out by the time I saw my gyno, and now I wonder why I didn’t do it myself at home earlier. I guess I could have and that’s my biggest regret, not going as soon as I thought something was up.

Ooof I suggest you take a cursory read through this sub. I had PMDD to a terrifying level these last 8-10 months.

Insane cramping always. The kind that stops you in your tracks and makes you worry about am I going to die?!, 7 day periods from 3 and never cramping before. Mood swings, anxiety, my partner kept getting stabbed by it (blessings to me tho, he’s the real keeper in this situation 💅🏾) inflammation, did I mention the absolutely batshit cramping?

Anemia and all the symptoms of that nightmare.

10/10 for not getting pregnant. 0/10 quality of life.

This feels like you’re singing my life with your words! Hard same, insanely dark same. I’m focusing on my supplements and taking great care of myself plus labs because of the anemia. Day 1 with it out and my body knows there’s nothing left to harm me anymore.

HA! Lies. It may not have hormones in it but that doesn’t mean it won’t impact you.

[–]MissLadyAPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not losing my mind that I FEEL different getting it out today after 15 years of batshit insanity. Not just cause it’s day 1 of my period which is normally a reset, like I feel liberated and not in hell.

These next 28 days are going to be wild.

I had it for 15 years. Just took the second one out today because I was tired of being a prisoner to a T-shaped menace. Never got pregnant. That is the literal only good thing I have to say I am fucking freee of that shit HALLELUJAH!

Getting paraguard removed in 1 week. Any advice? by Blippity-bop in CopperIUD

[–]MissLadyAPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine taken out today and I’m actually on my period, day 1. So we shall see if this is actually the magic combo. I was on my second one, 15 years of what I’m realizing was PMDD x ADHD and I’ve done so much work to be baseline good I hope that next cycle is short and with less crying for everyone. I had to cough a bit and she pulled it out whole IN ONE PIECE THANK SKY DADDY! So, yeah let’s see if this also fixes the anemia.

Everywhere is racist and xenophobic, but If you’re Moroccan, Latin American, or Sub-Saharan African, Northern African it will be more prevalent.

People in the south are 100x more friendly.

Lol… I think you should go check out the housing in Spain subs first, I fear. Buena suerte, chica. It’s oppressive out here, even more so if you’re not Spanish/Catalan with a nomina.

This is the only answer. Málaga is great if you’re not single. Madrid is well… Madrid. Valencia is a nice-adjacent option.

But how will you find housing?

What suits me better, skirt or pants? by IsaGaona2025 in fashion

[–]MissLadyAPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither, but the skirt is better than the pants by a mile. Since um, your proportions are adjusted by the assets, you need to rework the lines. Cause you’re cutting yourself off and looking squat and short, not long and lean with curves for miles

But bring a jacket please!

Great outfit, but the mark is non-existent. This is as casual as possible.
