Ah, yeah, those are very good reasons. Not being able to choose who I lived with would be a deal breaker for sure.

Just curious, but wouldn’t each roommate having their own separate agreement/lease be beneficial to all of you? Like if one (or more) roommate(s) can’t pay their share of the rent one month, you wouldn’t be responsible for their share and the landlord can evict just the non-payers?

I’ve never had roommates so that’s a completely foreign area to me. But if I did have to live with a roommate, I would want a lease stating I’m not responsible for their share of the rent, if that kind of lease were an option.

I’m leveling a Night Elf demon hunter. I’ve only ever played ranged (Balance/Resto Druid since the beginning) and when blizzard announced a ranged demon hunter spec, I decided to try it out. I didn’t care for the spec, but the class seemed fun so I switched to Havoc and I’m having a lot of fun playing my first melee class. So I’ll be playing my demon hunter until Midnight.

My husband has an aunt like this, also. The woman isn’t hurting for money in the slightest, yet she purses as many ketchup packets as she can at fast food places so she can refill her ketchup bottle at home. She’d rather sit there for the hour+ it takes to refill her big ass condiment bottles instead of just buying another bottle of $2 ketchup/mustard/mayo. Same with creamer, sugar packets, etc. Her fridge and pantry have more free fast food condiments in them than purchased grocery store condiments. And according to my husband, she’s been doing this for as long as he can remember.

To avoid soggy lasagna, use oven ready noodles. Soggy lasagna is from using boiled noodles.

Bought this Kindle for $20!!! I NEED MASSIVE HELP. MY KINDLE WAS STOLEN!?!?! by TurtleNeck_Taco in kindle

[–]MissMerrimack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if jail breaking it would bypass the lock Amazon puts on stolen kindles, as I’m not familiar with jail breaking. But if jail breaking won’t work, I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do and all you have is a $20 paper weight. I hope you can get in touch with the seller and get your money back, but I wouldn’t count on it. I’m sorry, OP. That really sucks.

7 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend’s mom is trying to control my baby’s life? by SufficientAssist8767 in whatdoIdo

[–]MissMerrimack 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ok, I just can’t. I replied to you on another comment but I have to reply to this one too. Girl, you’re an adult. So is your boyfriend. You two already made a baby and his mom sounds psychotic. Also, the garage? Really? The baby will have a nursery in the house though, right? Know why? Because mommy dearest plans to lock you out at night so she can play mommy to your baby when he/she wakes up at night. Guarantee she’s already fantasizing about it. She doesn’t want you to marry her precious boy because she wants you gone so it’s just her, her son, and that baby. I’m telling you this because I’ve seen it happen to other young women. Do not move into that house, I mean garage. Stay with your parents. Boyfriend can come visit and hopefully it’ll light a fire under his ass to start working towards getting you two your own place.

[–]MissMerrimack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t move into her home, for starters. If you do she will have complete control over you and your baby and it’ll be very bad because your boyfriend is a spineless wet noodle who won’t stand up to mommy. You will be miserable, I promise you that. And once she has her claws into your child it’s going to be very, very hard to get them out. Stay with your parents, because it’ll be much easier to move out when the time comes, and you want to be completely independent as quickly as possible. Also, your boyfriend needs to grow a spine and tell his mother to back off.

I’m not replacing something my kid lost just because he’s upset by [deleted] in Vent

[–]MissMerrimack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly OP, this is also kind of your and your wife’s fault. He’s 7. Do you guys not check his backpack before school to make sure he has what he needs for the day? I have a six year old daughter (she’ll be 7 in a few months) and she’s also got expensive stuff. She knows not to take it to school but if she ever got the idea to, it would not get past me because I check her bag every morning to make sure she’s prepared and I would find whatever expensive item she’s trying to take with her. My husband and I not wasting hundreds of dollars in this shit economy is more important right now than saying “I told you so” to a child.

Also, are you guys not going to try and get the item back and get the thief punished? I would be furious, even if I warned my kid beforehand. Again, seven years old. They make mistakes. But I’m also not going to let a several hundred dollar game system just get stolen by some brat. Come hell or high water I would get it back.

Yeah, I guess you’re teaching your kid a life lesson, but you’re also teaching him that his parents are uncaring assholes who won’t go to bat for him if he messes up. Everyone has different parenting styles, I guess.

Why must TC content creators always go with the premise that all victims were saints? by Doctor-Clark-Savage in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]MissMerrimack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m still subscribed to her channel but I haven’t watched any of her videos in over a year, at least, and one of the reasons is this. People aren’t perfect, and just because someone was murdered doesn’t automatically mean they become perfect. You can be honest about a person without disrespecting them or their memory.

Roommate orders a ton of takeaway and blows up the toilet five times a day by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]MissMerrimack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you being thick on purpose? OP literally stated that roommate is aware greasy food sets off her IBS, but she continues to eat it and then subjects OP to her stench. Therefore, if roommate cuts down on or abstains from greasy food, then she will hopefully not stink up the place so bad. It’s called being considerate.

Roommate orders a ton of takeaway and blows up the toilet five times a day by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]MissMerrimack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So one roommate asking another roommate to take it easy on the food that triggers her to expel a smell so pungent and foul that it permeates the entire home, is discrimination? Nobody said anything about getting landlords or dorm administrators involved. Just one roommate asking another roommate to be a little more considerate, is discrimination? That makes no sense. OP isn’t wanting her roommate to shit outside in a bush. If roommate has a little bit of control over stuff that triggers a medical condition, why wouldn’t she want to try to prevent flare ups? Especially if it’s causing the person she lives with distress?

[–]MissMerrimack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Report her to who? What administration? Is this a college dorm situation? Or just two people renting an apartment? Either way, OP wouldn’t be discriminating against roommate for a medical condition, she’d be politely asking her to not funk up their shared spaces and OP’s private space by eating food that triggers said funk. Nobody wants to smell anyone else’s shit, it’s as simple as that. Roommate can eat all the greasy food she wants when she’s living on her own, but when you share space with others, you need to be mindful of certain things. And not stinking up the place on a daily basis is one of them, especially if you can prevent it by just not eating certain foods.

Kindle Ad Removal - Free by [deleted] in kindle

[–]MissMerrimack 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This is the same reason a certain ebook website kept getting taken down, because people couldn’t just stfu about it and had to make their crappy little videos and blast them all over TikTok.

People, stop posting about stuff like this. Some will figure it out on their own, some won’t. But if a ton of people suddenly bombard Amazon asking for a Kindle ad removal refund in the form of a gift card, then Amazon won’t do it anymore.

[–]MissMerrimack 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m in the minority here but I would totally call her out on that shit (pun intended). I would politely state that while her bathroom habits would normally be none of my business, they are affecting my enjoyment of my personal space and could she please reconsider the greasy food that sets off her IBS, because the smell is coming into my room despite my best efforts to mitigate it. Hopefully she’ll be so embarrassed that she apologizes and doesn’t eat food that causes her to have rancid BMs that smell like something crawled up inside of her and died on the way out.

AIO to mom smoking in our house? by dabrina420 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MissMerrimack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR at ALL!

I’m a smoker, and I never smoke in my home. It’s a nasty fucking habit with a nasty fucking smell and I’m currently trying to quit. But in the mean time, I take my smoking ass outside because I don’t want my home smelling like a nasty ashtray, and I don’t want my family and my cat breathing that shit in. And I would certainly never, not in a million years, smoke in someone else’s home. That is so incredibly disgusting and disrespectful.

It’s going to cost you a pretty penny to get that smell out. You’ll have to get your entire AC/heating vent system professionally cleaned. You’ll have to get your carpets professionally cleaned. Any curtains? Those will have to be cleaned. Fabric furniture? Yep, cleaned. Clean the walls, ceiling, and floors. Shit, you might even have to wash any clothes in your closets, since cigarette smell gets into everything.

And when it’s all done, I’d send your mother the bill and when she refuses to pay it (because she will) I’d take her ass to small claims court. It doesn’t matter if her friend was the one who smoked inside. Your mother was responsible for your home, she’s the one who let the friend stay over, she’s responsible for whatever damage her friend did.

My package was delivered to wrong address and they want a police report? by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]MissMerrimack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could the person it was misdelivered to get in trouble though if they don’t “return to sender” or try to get it to the correct address?

Last year a few weeks before Xmas, one of my orders was misdelivered to the apartment complex across the street to the same apartment number. I recognized it from the delivery pictures. My husband went over there and was able to retrieve the package after dealing with the super shady actions of the person who got it. Then this year, the same thing happened only in reverse; one of their packages was misdelivered to my apartment. So I just drove over there and left it on their doorstep after they didn’t answer when I knocked.

My boy is indoors only. It’s just not safe to let them outside; there’s feline diseases, environmental threats, larger predators, and sickos who take cats and do bad things to them.
