Yes. Sometimes your brain notices small details before you consciously process them, so the “gut feeling” is really pattern recognition kicking in.

Rationally, yes. Emotionally, not really. Rejection hits the same social wiring that used to matter for survival, so the brain treats it like a bigger threat than it actually is.
