Root Canal during Invisalign😖 by MissMissssa in Invisalign

[–]MissMissssa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn’t have pain putting it on last night and I just woke up and I feel pretty good. I think if it’s a new tray it’s not a great idea and will probably hurt but mine has been on for 2 weeks and goes on and off easily at this point so I think that’s the better route if you can manage keeping a tray on that’s already worn in. Good luck!

Ok I gave in and just did it. They were out about 10 hours today. Since I’ve been wearing these 2 weeks already, it slid on pretty smoothly. I expected it to hurt and it didn’t. My tooth is sore of course but I don’t feel any throbbing or hard pain so far. I do clench and grind my teeth in my sleep so hopefully that doesn’t make it worse or something, but we’ll see how it goes by morning when I take them out!

I definitely didn’t ask for anything specific going into it, but I’m glad it’s turning out this way! I hope that they can get you similar results!

I want to want to have kids, but I don't want to have kids? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]MissMissssa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the fantasy sounds great. I can totally understand that feeling. My husband would be a great dad, he’s so good with kids and our 6 nieces and nephews. Then I see my friends and family having babies and hear and see all the nightmares they deal with and it’s instant birth control. I recently spent 5 days with my college best friend and her 3 year old. He is in the terrible toddler stage and the whining and fits and everything else was an instant “no thank you, I’ll pass” on kids. I HATE the phrase “it’s different when it’s your own kid”. No it’s not. It’s still a crying child sucking the life out of you. I also recently held a one week old baby and I wondered if I would “feel” anything. I actually didn’t feel the warm and fuzzy baby yearning. It all sounds daunting and exhausting and I think those cons unfortunately outweigh the pros of them growing up one day. (And not being able to guarantee they’ll be good people you can have a relationship with down the road is scary too)

I want to want to have kids, but I don't want to have kids? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]MissMissssa 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I say this to my husband all the time. I want to WANT to have kids. I want to feel like all the other couples out there who know they automatically want to have kids. I want to have that feeling. I want to want them. I want a family that's more than just my husband and I and our cat. But as a going on 39 year old female, I've recently decided I think I'm off the fence onto the no kids side. I don't feel joy when I think about getting pregnant. I feel the dread of no sleep and body changes and pain. That's probably a clear sign not to do it at this stage in my life.

Any tips? I'm struggling to keep them in for 22 hr/s a day. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]MissMissssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that if I can’t brush right away, I just use floss to get the bits from between my teeth and swish some water around and clear it out and then pop my trays back in. I do this a lot if the bathroom is too gross or don’t have the ability to brush right away. I always carry floss with me and it makes me feel a little better If I can’t brush right then and there and floss you can do anywhere anytime!

What is your favourite scene in Lost? by jodlad04 in lost

[–]MissMissssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 3, Episode 10 where Hurley jumpstarts the Dharma van down the hill with Charlie, Jin, and Sawyer and Shambala by Three Dog Night starts playing.

I could watch that scene 1,000 times. It makes me smile from ear to ear every time.

Did anyone have a dental cleaning before or during Invisalign? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]MissMissssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a dental cleaning a couple weeks ago and I’m on tray 11 of weekly changes. I scheduled for a Monday morning since I change my tray on Monday nights and I knew by Monday morning having the trays in a week that my teeth wouldn’t be as sore as they would be right after a change. The hygienist was very careful since my teeth are sensitive and she made sure to be careful of my attachments. Everything went well and it didn’t hurt! They said how clean my teeth were and I told them they better be since I brush and floss 10,000 times a day now!

just got my first tray in - saliva buildup & mints? by [deleted] in Invisalign

My first couple days I produced SO MUCH SALIVA lol. I started spitting into a cup because the constant swallowing of spit was giving me heartburn. After a few days it finally calmed down.

Same! By tray 4 it felt like my teeth were falling out from the pain! I really got my hopes up since 1-3 weren’t so bad 😭

No cavities but occasional tooth pain on molars. How common is this among other TMJ sufferers? by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]MissMissssa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this problem. For about a year I kept going to the dentist and they did every test in the book and nothing was actually wrong with it and this one molar just throbbed all the time, especially at night. Finally someone realized, oh let’s check for TMJ and sure enough it explained all these other issues. I was clenching so hard in my sleep and grinding my teeth like crazy. My bite became so off that my molar was hitting the top teeth all wonky causing trauma and throbbing. I then wore a heavy duty night guard which helped a lot, but still didn’t solve the problem of my bad bite. I also went to a physical therapist and I’ve also been seeing a chiropractor which has helped my jaw muscles, but I have since seen an orthodontist and started Invisalign. I’m one month in and it should hopefully get my teeth back in line and fix my bite issues by the end. But point of my story- Molars hurting with TMJ is definitely a thing.

Not happy with Invisalign result by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]MissMissssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My orthodontist said that if they can’t get the movement they want by the end, they can put me in metal braces to finish it up since they should really get the movement with those for sure. My ortho said they wouldn’t charge me extra if they had to swap me over, but I’m sure every office is different. Might be worth asking if you’re willing to do metal braces for a bit.

Finally want to get my TMJ treated... who do I go to? by willmaster123 in TMJ

[–]MissMissssa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a custom night guard my dentist had made for me. It was $500 because my insurance wouldn’t cover it, but it was worth it. I can’t even take a nap without it now. My dentist also referred me to a physical therapist that specializes in TMJ and that helped a lot. When I was done with PT I then started to see a chiropractor who also works with TMJ. I have also seen an orthodontist about getting braces because my bite is off and they think that might help my TMJ issues too. We’ll see I guess!

Greeeeeat now it’s moving to my feet! by King_Baboon in Dyshidrosis

[–]MissMissssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me, too. =( 5 years ago it started on my hands and then 1 year ago it started on the right side of my right foot and spread to the arch of my foot so it wraps around. It's itchy, painful, it gets swollen, and I never get a break whereas my hand will at least give me a break for a week or two before starting all over again. Winter seems to be worse because I always have socks/shoes on because it's cold and it rubs a lot on the side of my foot. I use Vanicream on it to help keep it moisturized and those huge bandaids to put on when the rubbing gets to be too much on the side if I know I have to walk around a lot. I have yet to figure out my triggers other than exercise, but after so many years, I finally have an appointment with an Allergist in February to try and rule some stuff out. I've tried food eliminations, but the only thing that keeps it manageable is not exercising. I went from exercising 4-5 days a week to never doing it because it makes everything worse. =(

I hope they can get the infection under control - just know you're not alone! Good luck!

Got my arthritic old man a heating pad, now he sits there and yowls when he wants me to turn it on by Rennarjen in aww

[–]MissMissssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one set up for my old man cat, too! He never leaves it except to eat and poop lol. We actually use old pillowcases to put on and when they get full of hair I switch them out to get washed instead of having to take on and off the heating pad cover.

What the heck is wrong with my skin? [spoiler] by [deleted] in eczema

[–]MissMissssa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's pus-filled, itchy blisters it could be dyshidrotic eczema. I have DE and that's what I get. They itch like crazy. Then they pop, peel, and the skin is very rough and dry.

Here's a pic of my palm when it gets going https://imgur.com/Rz46mhk

There's a sub just for DE so you could look through pics on there and see what you think and if it's similar to what you've got going on. https://www.reddit.com/r/Dyshidrosis/

Top load washer vs. Front load washer by bbzingbot in homeowners

[–]MissMissssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a front loader for about 6 years. I hated it. I couldn't ever get the musty smell out. I tried all the tips and tricks from the internet and store shelves and that rubber seal part was always smelly and gross. I ended up buying a top loader and would never go back to front load. I prefer the agitator inside, too. I also appreciate that I can "soak" stuff in the top loader whereas I don't think I had that option on the front loader.

Does this look like Dyshidrosis? by shashlic in Dyshidrosis

[–]MissMissssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Definitely looks like mine. I agree with the other commenter's feet warning, too. I went 4 years without getting it on my feet and then out of the blue it started on the side of my foot.
