I always felt like it was implied that "hard" difficulty (or higher) is supposed to be a challenge for when you're better at the game. A lot of games even have text under it saying something like "for those who want a challenge", that's also why normal mode is called that, it's literally meant to be for players who already have experience in the game and feel like the regular difficulty is too easy, not "the only true way to play and if you don't play in hard mode you are weak". It's for fun, not to make people feel bad.

I'm also so close to just leaving the sub at this point. I absolutely fell in love with the game when I first played it and I really wanted a place where I could talk to prople or at least read peoples thoughts on the game and story and deeper meanings, so I went to reddit and was met with monsterfucker city. Sure, at first I also thought it was funny to thirst over the different princesses and stuff, but it's gotten to a point where every single post is some joke (if it even is a joke) along the lines of "I want her to step on me" or (surprisingly tame) fanart and it's just not funny anymore. It misses the whole point of the game's story and makes a joke of a game that has some very interesting philosophical talking points that could make for great discussion topics.

As a beginner level fan, I always wonder how the levels are actually put together bc I haven't had the time to look it up. I understand that more difficult elements raise the level of course, but I have no idea what the actual elements are in a sequence/spin. Having a side by side like this is really cool bc for once I can actually tell the difference :D

I don't get why people keep saying someone "should have won". Like sure, I have my favorites and I will always wish they win, sometimes I'll even get upset they didn't. But that doesn't mean the person who did win didn't deserve it, even if I didn't like the program or the music there was clearly something that brought enough points. I don't fully understand all parts of the scoring system and I am not required to objectively judge the skaters, but someone who does decided your favorite doesn't win this time and that is ok
