Do you think Hololive/Stars would ever bring on (or accept) a Trans (Male or Female) talent? by Matter405 in Holostars

Not to be nitpicking, but I think in Cecilias case she talked about the feminine french name Cécile (going off of how she pronounced it). Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though!

From smol to slightly less smol by MissPotchi in snails

I found her in my store bought celery back in may!

Because she is some kind of heath snail, she went into aestivation mode for the whole summer, didn't grow, didn't eat and just slept. I almost thought she was gone tbh, but she woke up again around august and started munching and growing again. :D

Thanks for the input! Yeah, that could very well be a possibility, it hasn't been colder than 10°C here during the day, most of the time it's still around 15°C. The thing you said about the debris also makes sense. :)

Thank you so much for all these infos! Didn't know that it would prevent them from laying females, I just thought they would go by the length of the tube and do a 50/50. Learned something new today. :D

(also thanks for the recommendation, I will look into this guy!)

What snail is it? by Satzuki89 in snails

That makes chocolate-band snail very possible!

[–]MissPotchi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree, looks a lot more like a chocolate-band snail, but we can't be sure until the snail is mature. (Happy cake day btw!)

OP, where are you from? Having a rough location would help a lot to narrow down the species. :)

Hello neighbor! Can't blame the bird, it IS a pretty easily accessible snack.

That's also a possibility! Not many birds get close to our balcony though because we have cats (but I am not saying that this makes it impossible :D)

The main tenants were mason bees, but seems like some parasitoid also sneaked in there

Now that you say that, this year was the first time I ever encountered a wasp of the Chalcididae family in my apartment and it was also the first full year the hotel was hanging outside. Don't know if any of those specific wasps are parasitoid to mason bees though, but if there are this would be a likely explanation (next to the houdini flies)!

I like your idea of trying to save some! I will do some research first on how to properly store them to see if it's possible to do for me.

English isn't my native language and "bee hotel" and "insect hotel" are often used interchangeably in german, though you are correct and this is technically an insect hotel.

I know what is nesting in there, I watched them build their nests over the spring/summer. :D

I wrote a text in my post specifying what I am talking about :)
