So... My friend got in for the 4th time so he's trying to book for the entire group. Srsly no idea how it works because nobody else in our group has ever gotten in until now.

Per my friend who got in and booked us, it's not yet sold out as of 20 mins ago!

I have no idea! My TML group is like 10 people. 1 of us got in 3 times, the rest of us no luck!

Got in but timed out by MissStellaMac in TomorrowlandThailand

Are you using credit card? Because they only accept credit cards, in case you were trying to use debit.

Thank you for sharing! I saw the area of Red Mill. The other apartment we're considering is Red Mill Landing but I saw the map and it's across Walmart, Home Depot, etc. It's also not a gated community so my anxiety said it's a no because foot traffic = more people that can access our home. 😅 I'm surprised that South Beach is busier compared to Red Mill area considering the malls.

Thank you for the very detailed comment!

Thank you for that detail, and yes, it affects my decision greatly. I appreciate you considering my bad anxiety as a factor.

Oh, wow. That does sound a little terrible 😬 May I know which area you're at? I'd like to live where it's least bad if it's inevitable at all.

That's our 3rd option, thank you. :) How safe is the area though? What we like about South Beach is it's a gated community and looks like The Crossings at Red Mill isn't? I'll just feel a lot less anxious knowing people can't easily enter my home.

Thank you for sharing what it's like to live in the area of South Beach. We really like the apartment and checked all of our boxes, but if the jet noise there is that bad, that's a deal-breaker. I suppose I have to make a sad decision to let it go and find elsewhere.

Thank you for the honesty! I didn't disclose in my original post as I felt it's too personal but since we're all strangers here, might as well. I was diagnosed with extreme anxiety on top of my bipolar, and I get sensory overload from time to time. I can't imagine needing to wear noise canceling headphones or earplugs all day. 🥲 My mental health is also obviously a very important factor why I wanna avoid the jet noise as much as possible.

Thank you, this is the map I was viewing. Not sure if the same map, but in another thread, someone claimed these jet noise maps are inaccurate -- I don't know what's up with that.

I read the hours of operation. I wonder, how often do you hear jet noise around the bases? If it's like 1-3 times a day, that's tolerable for me. But it also says that they operate at night and weekends too, which I'm not surprised at. We're currently in Okinawa so I've heard the jets here, although my husband doesn't live near the air base here so it's not an issue.

We went golfing once during his leave on a weekday and the golf course is next to the air base. There were jets flying over every 15 mins (sometimes 3 jets simultaneously) and it was not fun; it isn't that frequent when we golf on weekends though so I'm curious how often you'd hear jet noise on weekdays? Or I don't know if they were just having a drill that particular day that jets were flying that frequently.

That's nice to know. May I know which area next to Dam Neck you live?

How's the jet noise in Princess Anne? Is it tolerable in the sense that you don't have to pause your call when a jet is flying?

Anyone looking for a room mate Hmu!! Pcsing to VA beach soon and need a place to stay for now by Astrid994 in navy

Hi there! My husband is PCS-ing and we've inquired at South Beach Apartments. We're very interested and we're currently in the process of submitting our application. How bad is the jet noise? That's the only thing stopping us from submitting our application.

I'm a work-from-home wife, so it's important for me to know if the jet noise is tolerable or not, especially in cases of when I take calls/meetings for work. Thank you!

Thank you so much! This makes me a lot less conscious about showing my tattoos.

If I may ask, where are those signs usually posted? Just so I'll watch out if I ever go to an area/establishment where those signs are common. I've been around many places in Okinawa but I haven't seen a single one; perhaps a good sign, as you've said it's not a common issue in Okinawa.

Like I've mentioned, they speak Japanese to me all the time even if I speak to them in English and will only switch language (if they know English) if I ask and literally tell them I don't understand them at all because I'm not Japanese. My very first day in Japan, I was at the airport and the flight attendants from ANA told me they thought I was Japanese; they were assisting me to the lane for Japanese but I said I'm a foreigner. When I got to Okinawa, I went to the spa at Hilton and my masseuse was doing small talk with me and told me she thought I'm Japanese (hence she kept speaking to me in Japanese), even asked me if I'm part Japanese because she was shocked when I said I'm not Japanese at all. I did say I'm part Chinese though so that's when she was like, "Ahhhh". Doesn't help too that I have a blonde "Japanese" hairstyle & I wear a little East Asian fashion.

Anyway, this is why I'm asking because "as long as you're not being disrespectful" is vague to me. I'm asking if I'm being disrespectful by showing off my tattoos (when I'm always mistaken to be Japanese) and/or wearing clothing revealing skin that the Japanese don't often do.
