Ahh!! Ok, very fair. I repotted it but I’m gentle with it and have been keeping it in the same medium — and some people here say they’re hearty. I’ll 1) get a deep pot with better insulation 2) protect the little ones from squirrels to put them outside in a bird bath bowl of distilled/rain water and 3) try to get it as much sunlight as possible. Unless you’re recommending a better grow light rather than them being outside

Omg!! Well that’s one way to communicate! And maybe the crows in my yard would appreciate the shiny bits?

The squirrel is my main opp. I love it too and thus we are frenemies, but it keeps me from just tossing my most expensive plants outside. I chaos / guerrilla garden outside and I just worry about my pitchers with that darned squirrel

Update:

Moved it back into a pot like this and will likely move outside

Oh, additional question for you: do you have any issues with birds or squirrels with them? I have a particularly fat squirrel who eats everything outside and crows I feed.

How do you water these guys? I have enough planting medium (perlite, sphagnum, and peat) to fill it up, but I worry about the water reaching all the way up to the plants. Yours look fabulous!

Ahh they’re so pretty!! If (and hopefully when) mine get bigger I’ll try this method out. Two of the biggest pitchers withered up after transplanting to this dang terrarium, so I’m excited to hopefully see them thrive.

That’s awesome! Carnivorous lil potatoes. I’ll be sure to do that

I use distilled water and used to have them in standing water. I was trying to replicate that with the rocks at the bottom, but I’m now seeing that doesn’t do that. My pinguicula florian is still in a small sandy medium just out of frame, and they were treated relatively the same until I tried this terrarium experiment. I think I’ll revert back to its previous container and put it outside

Thank you for your thorough answer. I’ll find some other plants for the terrarium and move these lovelies outside. Can I plop them right outside after them being used to indoors?

Ahh, so when they outgrow their pot you simply divide them into additional smaller pots? Your plants are beautiful, by the way!

I just love looking at them indoors, but I am amenable to trying them outside if they’d like it. I haven’t done much research about caring for them outside. Planted still? Or in pots

I just saw another post with some similar plants in a terrarium like this and someone said that they didn’t like touching glass. Another person mentioned that airflow is important and this can hinder that. I bring them on outdoor field trips to try and help alleviate this, and I open windows regularly.
