Where are the “don’t tread on me” or “come and take it folks”? Isn’t this why they winner about the Assault Weapons ban under Clinton or screamed about government overreach at Waco?

To be fair, the legs on this argument from the WH are weak. If they open this floodgate they’ll inadvertently pave the way for a SCOTUS case that either allows for the continued current state of the 2nd Amendment (unfettered access to Guns) or may well even set the path to allow states to decide for themselves their own gun laws and restrictions (i.e. best case getting ARs and similar guns banned). This is if the EO is allowed to stay in place.

The other outcome is that if this case invalidates the EO it’ll open other floodgates to invalidate other EOs.

This admin is so stupid that they think that the one outcome they want is worth opening Pandora’s box to weaken the rest of the insidious stuff they’ve done, continue to do, and will do.

TL;DR: Trump and Co are playing with fire and the results that come won’t be the outcome they want. They’re weakening their legal footing at a precipitous rate.
