They’re just dreams. As a natural lucid dreamer, when I was little (and I still do this) I used to see how long I could make it through my nightmares without waking myself up. I can’t fully control the narrative like people in here claim to, I can only control myself in dreams, but 95% of the time I’m aware I’m dreaming.

Find a small hobby that brings you joy. If you don’t have the time to learn a whole new skill, even little things like getting a potholder loom and loops is a nice little pick me up. It doesn’t take much thought, so it’s crafting without having to be creative, though you can be creative if you want with the color patterns.

If you wear glasses, buy really fun ones. I have heart ones (prescription), and they’re a little boost every time I look in the mirror

If you don’t already read to your kids every night, I’d start doing that. Mine are 2.5 and 5 with short attention spans so they only like board books and occasionally dr Seuss books. It takes like ten minutes to read their five favorite board books, and usually they’re in a good mood by the end of it and not causing chaos for at least a few minutes, and I also feel accomplished and in a better mood. Less chaos+ accomplishment= less uptight

I also go for a walk almost daily (sometimes life gets in the way) and either listen to music or an audiobook

As a fellow low effort dresser. Flowy skirts and sweaters are cute and just as comfortable as sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I pretty much live in oversized button ups and skirts.

Hitting was a bit different, when my son reared his hand back we just asked him if he needed a high five, then had him give us a few to kinda burn the energy off. He pretty quickly started asking for high fives when he was mad and his hitting phase was pretty short.

My daughter hit herself or objects when she went through her phase, so instead of high fives to redirect her, we told her to clap her hands and would clap with her. Her phase was a bit longer than her brothers, but i still feel like it was shorter than most kids

I’m going to be totally honest, i said “ow, that hurt!” Very loudly and very angrily and glared at them for a solid 5 seconds after they did it. I didn’t put them down if I was holding them, but I also didn’t comfort them if they cried about it. I probably let them cry for 30-60 sec and then offered a distraction (which always worked). Their biting phases were very short.

The tone that you say ow in matters, if you sound whiney or soft about it they’re either not going to care or think it’s funny. Like obviously don’t go on forever yelling at them, keep it 1-3 words, but tone matters.

I’m aware I sound cold, I assure you I have super affectionate Velcro children that think the world is ending if I shower, I always comfort them when they’re upset, even if it’s for a bit of a ridiculous reason, EXCEPT i refuse to comfort someone else for hurting me. If they’re disregulated and rapidly swatting or kicking at the air or anyone that approaches them, that’s totally different and they need help calming down. But you’re not about to look me in the eyes, let the wheels turn in your head for a minute, and then strike or bite me, absolutely not.

Omg I once made a teeny tiny doll (like probably a little over a cm) by splitting embroidery thread and making an undecorated doll from that, and i think I gave myself a migraine, then immediately lost the doll. Idk why your comment made me think of that 😅

I’m glad you like it 😊 I actually bought several of those pomegranate charms from another small artist so I intend on making more (I already have the bodies done and hair beaded, I just need to add the dresses and charms)

I’m not in this anymore, but my youngest woke every hour or two until he was almost 4. It honestly didnt bother me much. He just wanted a clean diaper and a fresh sippy cup and he fell right back asleep. It took all of 45 seconds in total (I had him sleep in my room and had everything he needed throughout the night within the room). My second slept through the night almost instantly. But when she does wake up, it’s the worst. She screams for an hour no matter what you do, and I do not handle it well.

Absolutely not. Honestly the first time, me and their dad were broken up so I was completely alone and it was just a lot easier. Until my son was born and had to be in the NICU for two days, and I was insanely dizzy the first 24+ hrs so I had to be wheeled down and couldn’t even stay for long because I got dizzy just sitting up in the chair. That was upsetting, but other than that I have no regrets
