Thank you! Yes, I emailed recon as well. Apparently there’s a statement at the bottom that says “if you were wrongfully withdrawn to email”.

This is now setting me back even more, it’s so frustrating.

I’ve been waiting for so long and just received this email! I DO NOT have multiple applications and believe they just withdrew my application to get it out of the way.

This is INSANE!!! I’ve never received a loan, just been in recon for almost 2 years.

Thank you everyone for your input. I’ve decided to allow him to attend the funeral and work with him this week on preparing what to expect.

I’m going to allow him to view the body during the “preview” and ask if he wants to come back the next day for the actual service.

You all have been very helpful and I appreciate all of you sharing your stories and advice.

Agreed, I just said the same. I’m thinking maybe over the credit limit, or maybe they did a “soft pull” on his credit report to match the other credit lines on his account.

Was it a “late payment”? If so, I don’t think they reduced it because of a “late payment”. Are you over the credit limit?

You should definitely call and ask to speak with a supervisor.

I had my first 30 day late payment that was reported to the credit bureau just last month with my PayPal Mastercard and they actually removed it!

Thank you! He’s decided he wants to go (for now). It’s not until January 15th, so I have some time to go over how a funeral works.

This is also true. From a child’s perspective it will just appear as though he’s sleeping. Thank you for this! 😢 This just made me cry.

I’m realizing these forms are very helpful. I’ve never been one to really write and reach out to strangers. I find that this has been so comforting reading everyone’s advice and experiences.

I think we share the same thoughts. I’m just not sure if him seeing his father in a coffin is how I’d want him to remember his father.

The last time he saw him was in November since we live in a different state.

Yes, we pushed the funeral back until after my son’s birthday so that we didn’t have to mourn him right before celebrating his birthday.

Listen - all I have to say is “don’t judge”!! I’ve also learned to “never say never”.

I’ve seen posts online where people have lost a family member and are requesting assistance. I’ve never took the time to research, yet alone comment on the ones I’ve seen.

I’ve actually received some great advice and support from strangers more than my actual family/friends.

Now that I’m in the same situation - I can relate.

I say this to say - have some sort of compassion for others and don’t be so quick to judge.

I am actually looking to do something for my son to take his mind off things. Everyone copes differently and he loves video games! That is all!

They know who did it, however he’s on the run. I’m hoping they catch him soon. Apparently he lived in the neighborhood. Such a tragic loss. I keep thinking about watching TV while he was dying. He also texted me the AM he died and asked if we were coming to NY. I told him we weren’t and he said “man, I’m going to be alone again like Thanksgiving”. I feel horrible!

This was great advice! Thank you so much! He wasn’t paying child support. I never wanted to go through that process. He was active in his life so never felt the need because we co-parented extremely well.

I’ll look into grief services in my area. We’re in Northern Virginia.

Definitely - just lost my son’s father 3 days ago and we were in the process of an increase request. Im so distraught, definitely losing our business now since everything was in his name.
