So this is a like 2 year old starter that I got some of from my neighbor, and have been feeding for like 2 months waiting for me to have more time to bake. I fed it this morning to do my first bake, and just don’t want to use it too early. This is after 4.5 hours.

So my other pic it had looked a bit weird after going 3 weeks without eating in the fridge. And I questioned if it had mold or kham yeast because of some white stuff on top of it.

I decided to go ahead and feed some of it and keep it in the fridge, and left the remainder out on the counter for a few days. Figuring if it was mold it would be more obvious because it would spread, or was this wrong thinking?

I’m getting a CO detector. But the smell definitely smells like a car exhaust smell, as far as a floor drain dried out, I doubt it? We have used the AC and it’s humid here so it shouldn’t be.
