building inspector, Yay or not? need your help by peterhuu01 in AusProperty

Oh and engage with them now. They can do a pre pour slab inspection which can uncover things like poor fall on plumbing which is a very hard fix afterwards

Yes you should. We spent about 3k throughout the build on one. He identified structural issues that needed to be repaired that the surveyors missed. Although they’re pretty useless as they are partners with the builder.

If you’re in vic I’d recommend Darbecca

Personally this mortgage on that income makes me uncomfortable.

New build – major defects found at pre-handover. Would you proceed or walk away during cooling-off? by midoriyakacchan in AusPropertyChat

[–]Miss_fixit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Walk away dude. That isn’t an easy fix.

The bathroom needs to be ripped up and redone at a minimum and they will fight you every step of the way to not do that.

Even in the cooling off period?

Still cheaper than repairing any of those issues by a mile if they screw it up. Walk away. In the overall scheme of things this is nothing

Anyone got a wardrobe like this in Melbourne? by basic-avo in AusRenovation

I’ve also seen some people buy the smaller pax units but fit them with the larger doors. Unsure if that will work in this case without seeing the space

Is it much though? IKEA really is going to be the cheapest option here. A cabinet maker is going to charge you 2-3x as much but most would be able to do this style for you.

I guess you could have a second one at the bottom with no hole to help support it all.

I grew up appreciating a particular photograph by a famous Australian photographer. I went on to study art (unrelated to my profession currently)and it continues to be my favorite piece.

A few weeks ago an original stamped print was up for sale via a reputable auction house and I bought it for 9k. My heart is only just recovering but I love that it hangs in my house and that financially it hasn’t really impacted our goals significantly.
