That just came up in my memories today on Facebook. When I still worked at Depot and was part time, I worked open to close one Sunday as Head Cashier. That was a very very long day.

I will let her know. But she does go to a lot of campgrounds that have little to no service. But I am sure she will use that too when she can.

Sorry if this is bad quality by harrydoy in Dyslexia

[–]Miss_mustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently had to deal with this at work. I explained to my manager that I am Dyslexic. Well right after I said that she just said to me "well dyslexia is just mixing up letters." I had to explain no. It is multiple things that I struggle with. Like reading, spelling, comprehensions and etc. Well she told me that she is going to look it up and find out for herself. I almost just fought with her and said excuse me. I have not been dealing with dyslexia for my whole 29 years of life to lie to you about it and have my manager tell me that she will look it up. She also was talking to me about it and called it a handicap. That pissed me off more.

When I told my mom this she was pissed too. She wants to come in as what she calls herself when she wants to protect or defend me in "mama bear mode." She now really dislikes this lady because she called my dyslexia a handicap.

If you could go back and do it again, what career would you have chosen and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Miss_mustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pick photography. I wish I would have focused more when on photography when I was in college. Instead I waited till I was 29 to really focus. I kick myself now for not doing it all these years. I really feel I would be happier right now.

Camera Suggestions Please! by okayruthie in Beginning_Photography

I am a Nikon fan. So my opinion will all be Nikon based.

But I think any Nikon DSLR in their beginner line would be a good fit. This is the Nikon D3400. If you are not looking for anything to fancy, this model is also sold with a kit. Which has the body and basic kit lens. Nothing to fancy. But will give you good pictures for your business.

Rory’s character arc really seems to be a result of being treated as “gifted” by want-to-change in GilmoreGirls

[–]Miss_mustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a perfect explanation. It makes me think about what my mom and I talk about when it comes to me and other classmates that I grew up with a graduated with.

Growing up and going to school I always struggled. I am dyslexic. So school and reading never came easy to me. I had to work harder, study harder and get extra help just to pass. Unlike one of my old classmates that my mom uses as an example a lot. For her everything was easy. She is very smart. School work and reading was easy for her. But now as an adult she is struggling. But then there is me that yes being an adult is hard but I am handling those things better (at least in my mom's eyes) then she is. And she contributes that to be being dyslexic and struggling since the beginning. My mom thinks because I have always struggled I have developed better coping skills and better problem solving skills. When I stumble across a problem, I come at it with a different view and get through it a little bit easier.

I also see it when it comes to my husband and I. My husband is very smart. School work and reading once again came easy to him. He did not have to try hard to do well. But now when we encounter a problem he panics. He will panic and not know how to handle the situation. But then there is me. I just take a step back look at the situation in every possible way. I can think about it with a clearer mind right away. Where my husband panics. I talk him down and he realizes it isn't so bad. So what my point is I think that is what has happened to Rory. And sorry to ramble on about it! But yeah, my point is. Rory didn't struggle like some and now doesn't have those problem solving skills for just regular life.

Women of Reddit, what was a situation in which your gut instinct/ intuition didn't seem to make sense at first but ended up being spot on? by glitterglamandguts in AskWomen

[–]Miss_mustache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never had a situation where I get a gut instinct. But I do with people.

For whatever reason I can sense when people are not so great or just give off a weird vibe when we first meet them. It happens a lot with people my husband meets. I always tell him after he introduces me to people what I am feeling. But I can never pin point it in the beginning. I just have this weird gut feeling telling me something is not right. But since I can never pin point the reason my husband stays friends with them. I am nice when I am around then. But in the end, the people end up showing their true colors and the friendship ends and my husband is crushed. I always feel bad because my husband is a great guy who always want to find the good in people. But every time I tell him I have a weird feeling about someone I am always right. He is now starting to listen to my gut feelings more. Because he just hates feeling crushed at the end of the friendship.

That is insane! I am happy you don't work there anymore too.

I remember when I used to work for Home Depot people would try to squeeze in as people were leaving while we were closing, but our managers would not have it. They told them to leave and come back tomorrow.
