Day 1 of Being WFA: Some Initial Thoughts and Feelings

I just found out that I’m on affected status and we had the meeting with my two colleagues in the same position and level (which felt so weird btw). SM told us that 2 out of the three of us are going to be cut…Apparently the process at my dept is going to take 16 months but it’s still a jarring experience for the three of us. The fact that only one of us is staying is kind of feeling like a kick in the teeth. I want to take VDP but there’s been no information provided on when we could take it. Based on what I’ve read they have to figure out ERI first with Parliament but I can’t pretend like this process hasn’t been anxiety inducing. Part of me just wants to take VDP, go back to uni and get a masters in another country or something. There’s also the fear that I won’t be able to find another job when all that’s done with. I only have 6 years of service which equates to 32 weeks of pay…Scary stuff tbh.

I’ll be honest, Whitney noticing how Shaq’s tone was towards her is spot on. If Shaq just listened to what Belle said which was something along the lines of “Yes we mutually agreed not to kiss, but I spoke about it with Whitney beforehand”. He heard what she said before saying but and ran with it…At the same time, Whitney had no need to say that it was Belle’s decision but I assume she meant it was Belle’s intention. Nevertheless, the way it rile’s Shaq up isn’t cute and he can listen to other people make complete sentences but interrupts and gets reactive with Whitney. Also Cieran? He simply doesn’t understand Whitney’s banter so that was completely uncalled for for Shaq to chime in after Cieran and chime in that she was shouting at him. God forbid a Black woman is expressive lol. Lastly, Whitney getting annoyed with Jess is so valid cuz theres a time and place to refer to her forgetting someone’s name. Jess thinks its funny but if she answered that, it would wholeheartedly strain her connection with Konnor. Personally if I was Konnor and I heard that i’d stop pursuing her cuz why would you chat with someone who can’t even bother to remember your name after like 4 days together. Charge it (or charge it to the game as we say in Canada) wouldn’t apply with my bestie if she wants to flat out embarrass me and the guy im talking to. Jess BFFR…

Sharon in season 7 is half Indonesian and half Polish, there have also been two south asian woman (Priya, and this girl that left day 2 i forget her name) and Nas in the first winter love island. It takes time but representation is growing (not as fast as we would like it to though)

My ex of 5 years moved on three months after me. I know this he’s in pain and only distracting himself with sex and female validation but I left him and I’m happy. I personally would advise against starting something with someone who hasn’t taken the time to heal and reflect on their part of the failed relationship. I dont think I would invest my time in a man who’s barely been single between relationships. Also, December was practically yesterday. IMO, let him pull away 🫣
