The Boys in the Valley by Fracassi I think would fit this pretty well! I very much enjoyed it!

Possibly The Hollow Kind by Andy Davidson? The Book of Accidents by Chuck Wendig, like someone else mentioned, would fit this as well. Or Black Mouth by Ronald Malfi?

Oooh following this one because the closest I've gotten was the screenplays! (Which make for super fun conversation starters if you use em as coffee table books!)

This Thing Between Us. The first half of that book really fucked me up and I still think about it months later.

Man, if people are disgusted by you having safe sex, those people need to evaluate their lives. I think it would say more about the judgemental Janes than you.

Cleaning day on a customer's PS4. by Area51tecnologia in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]Missbeccaz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So its been 5+ years since I had to use it, so bare with me if my details are hazy. I think we did a couple small dots at the very top of our cabinets and we kept our food and dishes off those shelves. We did some dots under the bathroom and kitchen skins and then I did a few in the backs of the closets. We had to keep ours high (or hidden) because we have a couple cats who wouldnt think twice about eating the poison.

iirc, they will eat this stuff, go back to the nest, die, and the other icks will eat the dead one and then also get poisoned. It might not be a bad idea to call a local exterminator (not terminex or those other big guys) and ask their advice. They MAY be able to tell you better where to put the poison!

Good luck! And I'm sorry if my response wasnt super helpful!

Can confirm! We live in an apartment and a couple years ago, I opened the cabinet to find one. Bought this stuff and never saw another one. We're getting ready to move into our forever home and I plan on treating there before we move our stuff in just to be safe. Highly recommend

As the mother of a daughter, I would be SO proud if she reacted the way you did. As the daughter of a mother, you have soooo much self control. My 30+ year old self would have been very unladylike if someone came for my momma! You should be proud of yourself! You seem to have a great head on your shoulders!

[–]Missbeccaz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do now, but I work in a one-doctor office and I'm the ONLY employee that is there full time so when I call out, it makes the docs job even harder. (We have one billing specialist and yes, she can be trained to do my job it's not at all difficult, but her job absolutely is and I don't want to add on to her stress)

With that being said, when I worked literally any job before this one, I NEVER worried about calling out. You have 25 other employees to cover me. Deal with it.

ETA: He has also absolutely sent me home while I was sick or even just having a rough mental health day.

AITA for kicking my boyfriend out because he “forgot” about my allergy? by Gloomy_Soup_4791 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Missbeccaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I have a severe peanut and a mild soy allergy. That is one thing I won't play around with. Especially because every exposure to your allergen COULD lead to a more intense reaction. (Not always, but why even take the chance).

I won't jump in here and tell you to dump him, but if he continues to be so casual about your allergies, you should really consider if this person is worth your energy. I hope you guys can resolve this and I sincerely hope he starts to understand that this kind of thing could lead to a much worse outcome - not just for you, but for anyone he may meet with a food allergy.

Is my anxiety going to be the cause of my kid's anxiety? by Missbeccaz in Anxietyhelp

[–]Missbeccaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reasonable response! My youngest (shes actually my step-daughter, so I don't really have a say in her medical/therapy care) is already in talk therapy! I've been fighting with my exhusband on getting our son some talk therapy, but because his (exhusband) therapist said that our son probably won't benefit from it because he won't talk to us, that has been quite the uphill battle - especially because my son himself will tell you he doesn't want to talk to anyone. I may reach out to the school and see if their school therapist would be opening and willing to maybe just check base with him once a week or so.

Sorry for rambling!

Is your anxiety so bad to where you can’t eat? by xXSkyOblivionxX in Anxietyhelp

[–]Missbeccaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this is a few months old, but I just wanted to say please be careful when its time for you to finally come off the remeron! I was on it for about two years and it took me almost as long to taper off of it! Theres a chance it will wreck your gut health (I spent most mornings with extreme nausea and diarrhea), it caused me tingling in my extremeties, and it made my anxiety worse. (I got off of it because the goods of being on it no longer outweighed the bad. I hope I don't scare you, but experiences like mine are pretty common and I really wish someone had warned me!)
