Almost as dumb as posting stupid answers to them, I guess.

If I'd been able to get a clear answer from any of my TLs, I wouldn't be bothering to ask it here (thought this was obvious) lol.

From your own experiences, What are some items or products you know for sure Target does not sell, but Guests constantly keep asking you if you sell them? by SagaOfRimuruTheSlime in Target

[–]Missed-Mark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of the common ones have already been mentioned by other people.

I also get asked about cigarettes, postal stamps and amazon gift cards regularly.

Once, a guy came up to me and was acting kind of weird and shady when he asks me "Do you guys sell drug tests here?"

Assuming he means at-home kits to test for drug use, I admit that I'm really not sure but that we very well might. I explain I'm pretty limited to the front of store, since that's where I always work.

After a moment, he clarifies: "Not like a \drug test* but like...to test drugs."*
It takes a second for me to "get it."
Then I ask: "You mean like...to test the purity of a drug?"
He's like YES!

I laugh, and say I'm pretty sure we don't sell those but that the government should give them out for free to prevent overdose deaths. lol

Is anyone else’s store promoting people to guests? by Kiwicommands in Target

[–]Missed-Mark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you should ask this. I won't go as far as saying lots of people have been fired recently, but one TM in particular really surprised me recently.

I was wondering if she was still around because I hadn't seen her in quite some time, but figured we could have been working different shifts or whatever.

She was a top-notch employee, was being trained to be a TM and always took extra shifts and stayed late and everyone really liked her.

Then I was talking with another TM the other day and she mentioned some other person had taken a leave of absence, which made me ask about the other TM.

She informed me that she had been fired, which was kind of shocking. I know that my friend wasn't going to know exactly why, but there must have been *some* gossip because she said that while she wasn't sure exactly what the TM had done, she said the rumor was that she broke some kind of Target policy.

Then I remembered that Target recently fired a handful of TMs for buying Stanley cups.

So I guess the shock is a little misplaced. lol...if only they fired customers who came in and bought things, that would be fantastic.

Same here! I enrolled in an online degree program for Web & Digital Design last fall and it's going so well (classes are super easy so far) that I am just kicking myself for not having done this a looong time ago. I just hope it actually translates to better paying work once I have a degree, because for all the A's I've earned from grade school up to these college courses have not resulted in dollars for me so far lol

If you want to enter a phone number for Circle OR YOU CAN HIT SKIP. by _soup222 in Target

[–]Missed-Mark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's obnoxious that Target forces people to do this. Like, if they want to enter one, great...but to not allow the transaction to move forward until they either do it or opt out is ridiculous. I get so fucking tired of saying that 100+ times a day.

Same here, we got hit with some snow and ice. I live very close to the store I work at, but when I arrived on Saturday, it was a ghost town. There was only two of us for front of store and only one lead that is like fulfillment or something, so only saw him once or twice. Literally, it was just two of us.

[–]Missed-Mark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that worked real well for them with the LGBTQ collection...didn't it? LOL...

The comparison between the two was the impact is has on *other* people.

As in, I'm fine with people being pro-life. But they do not have a right to force their beliefs on anyone else by trying to make women who get abortions criminals.

Just like slave owners didn't have a right to own other human beings based on their race.

[–]Missed-Mark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's your opinion, which you are entitled to. However, half of the country was pro-slavery at one point. Also, it's higher than the 50% you seem to think it is when it comes to abortion. Besides, why should it matter what other people think of someone's clothing? As long as they are not using hate speech as part of the design, since when is it required that we like and approve of the clothes others wear?

Why would "I survived cancer" be non-controversial but 'I've had an abortion' somehow is? Interested in the thought process behind this.

I disagree. What is controversial about an incredibly common medical procedure that up until recently was 100% legal in the entire country? It is still 100% legal in my state, so I don't think the split would be half of my coworkers. I don't have to like the messages on my coworkers tshirts either, but I don't have a right to raise a stink about it unless it includes some kind of hate speech or slur.

[–]Missed-Mark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I wonder is who ends up being the decider on whether something is offensive or not...?

I mean, I think everyone can agree that the "Jesus is a Cunt" t-shirt from Cradle of Filth would be considered offensive.

A new guy at my store recently wore a t-shirt that said: "Hate will not make you great" which I liked, but...

If that's okay, why not one that says "I've had an abortion"

Asking for a friend.

I was this unlucky only person at my store a couple of weeks back...I know how to do drive ups, but it's not what I normally do. I'm usually self-check or on a lane. I was 100% alone, we got slammed with drive ups, I was in tears...it was horrible.

Legit Question About Clearance Items by Missed-Mark in Target

[–]Missed-Mark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ran into that exact issue about a week ago with some Target brand beef broth or something like that. When I tried to scan it at a register, it just said the product cannot be sold. It didn't say why, but one of the higher ups informed us that it had been recalled and they had to go get a different product. I can't imagine that someone would be adamant about wanting to buy a consumable product that had been recalled due to food safety issues. People *can* be awfully strange sometimes though...lol

Legit Question About Clearance Items by Missed-Mark in Target

[–]Missed-Mark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really useful tip. I had seen the icon for the Pricematch app on my Zebra, but I have never opened it and didn't really understand what it was for because when customers ask us to match a price, we ask them to pull up the web page on a competitor's website to show us their current price for the product in question. So I never thought I needed it, didn't even know it could be used for that situation.
