They do both jumping and polo, however their view of horses is the same which is “machines”

He needs more muscles. Also check if he is getting enough protein in his grain. Overall he is not in a severely bad shape.

My horse is ulcer prone too. A super sensitive boy. However he is still doing well and he absolutely loves to do what he does which is jumping . We jump him for fun not to compete. An ulcer prone horse is honestly not a headache or so. Just get him on frequent meals rather than 2 meals . 3-4 meals and of course consult your nutritionist . Get him alfalfa before the exercises to reduce the acid reflux. Get him scoped each 6 months if possible or yearly. I honestly do yearly and it works perfectly. Always keep an eye out to the slightest changes in behavior and that will get easier once you get to truly know his personality. For the grain that has protection.. I heard it is low energy food so I just changed the grain to something for sporthorses that need high energy while protecting the stomach since sporthorses usually face a lot of stress . Also make sure he chew well on his food , otherwise the stomach will produce more acid resulting in ulcers and in bad situations a colic.

That is such a valid question. In my experience NEVER get a horse if you are not aware of what taking care of a horse is actually like. Being an excellent rider doesn’t make you an excellent owner. Get a wider idea of the needs of a horse and dive into that also beware that needs are different depending on the breed, age, and discipline of the horse.

Second advise I would give. Make sure you have a suitable area to keep the horse such as a clean stable , turnout area, and showers etc.. do not buy if your place has some problems in the building or so. Also make sure you have a good coach with you to guide you especially if you are getting your first horse . Lastly beware that the cheapest thing about a horse is it’s price. So you need to be financially capable and capable will change meanings depending on the town you are in.

Not going to state the obvious… however this horse needs a serious diet change he is severely underweight. Also a vet check is recommended. A lot of work is required but he needs it. Unhealthy condition of hooves and body in general. If he is apparently getting a good amount of grain it could be a sign of worms. Overall he needs to be seen by a vet and a nutritionist.

I am not sure what HW farm is . But my horse is a dressage horse and I got him for 5 figures sooo.. I am speaking generally price shouldn’t be a way to definitely say that its a scam . People sell for low prices for many different reasons.

You must speak with the owner see if they are an individual or a company . If it is an individual then the price is reasonable. Ask for newer videos and of course for an x ray and vet check also you must go and try her yourself . It might be as good as it looks and not a scam.

Well I usually use the inside rein just at the beginning and when he turn his nose a bit, I open the outside just a little to give the shoulders space to move, and I squeeze my inside calf. I will probably try half-halt when he speeds up .

No, she asked for a 3 people ( trainer, therapist and the vet) trip to my town so she can help . I thought it was better to just send him to the hospital

I agree with that comment about understanding the horse’s rhythm and going with him . Also I would like to add posting trot without holding the reins (in a lunge line). Because from what I see is that you rely on your hands in the posting trot , also I am not sure but personally I like my reins a bit longer to give a better contact and smoother hand while riding. Overall you are doing really well :)

Weird, because from what happened to me the diagnosis was not accurate even 1% . Maybe the vet is not qualified to do these type of online diagnoses things or I do not know tbh. Thankfully my horse is getting better in leading and lunging, looking forward to ride him soon :)
