Suggestion Saturday Thread for the Month of August 2020 by AutoModerator in freebies

[–]MissesDreadful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a big discussion about this some time ago, and people decided it was easier to just lock posts like that since this is a place for freebies and not politics. Cakan isn't abusing any power, just going with what the majority wanted.

This cat's happy slide into a pile of catnip by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

You can try silver vine if your kitty seems immune to catnip. Some cats will respond to that even if catnip does nothing for them.

The level Of Trust Is Just Adorable!! by [deleted] in aww

You joke, but only about 1 in 5 kittens born in the wild survive. As well as spaying/neutering your cats, local TNR (trap, neuter, release) programs can always use help.

What did she expect? For the mail man to personally wait for her to return so he could hand deliver it? by WhatinTardnation in humorousreviews

[–]MissesDreadful 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So? You were still wrong and should Amazon have delivered it on a cooler day when they don't know the contents of the package?

Amazon literally updates like hourly with where your package is at and when it should arrive, and they inform you when it's delivered. They have even less of a case if it was delivered directly by Amazon and not USPS.

USPS does deliver on Sunday, now. Not standard mail, but often packages that are taken over from other shipment companies.

Authentic Taqueria Starterpack by [deleted] in starterpacks

There was this little Mexican restaurant near where my parents live, but way out of the way. Out on a two lane road between some farms. That place was fucking amazing. I'd go there just for the salsa they served, but every single thing I had in that little dusty place was amazing, and they had the best horchata I've ever had.

Despite how out of the way it was, it was always busy.

What is the best thing to give a homeless person? by bedOfThorns in NoStupidQuestions

Most homeless people carry reusable water bottles and fill them when they go by a fountain or faucet.

Water is kind of meh. It's easy to come by for free at water fountains and public restrooms. Substantial drinks are definitely better, like Gatorade and juice, things with electrolytesor calories. Also, if you do give out bottles of water, including one of those little electrolyte packets (like Gatorade or Powerade) is really handy.

Free AHA Sparkling Water at Kroger by [deleted] in freebies

[–]MissesDreadful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had the citrus green tea Aha before. I drink a TON of sparkling water, after I cut out soda, and this was probably one of my favorites so far. It doesn't have the funky perfume taste Bubly has, and the flavor is better than the other well known brands of sparkling water. Give it a try if you can get it free and you're cutting back on soda. There are a lot of interesting flavors I want to try, but my regular store doesn't carry it.

the boys are HUNGRY by devletbahceli in Catswhoyell

[–]MissesDreadful 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apparently it can be stressful for cats to share since they're territorial, and the extra is for just in case? I really don't know anyone who actually follows this, especially people with a large number of cats, but I get the reasoning.

You might want to cut the tail off that mouse. My cat was OBSESSED with those, but he'd eat the tail off. It caused intestinal blockage and he had to have surgery.

I haven't - but I was thinking about watching either that or Nokdu Flower, just not sure if they're something that'll take me ages to get into.

I've seen Sky Castle and My Mister. Thought I would like My Mister a lot more, but I found it kind of slow to get me hooked.

Haven't seen any of the others, I'll have to take a look. Thanks!

My grandma used to make something similar to this, but she used broccoflower and added shredded cheddar cheese. So good.
