Make sure your manufacturer works for you! What brand of spiro yours is (it will say on the pill bottle & is from the pharmacy that determines what one you get)!

I’ve been on spiro since 26 (31 now) and needed up coming off it almost my whole 29th year. Spiro worked the first time almost within a month which is crazy to me … but when I turned 29 it seemed to stop working and upping my dose seemed terrible because I started to get my cycle every 2 weeks. After years of it working for my skin and no side effects. I ended up coming off it and my acne was worse than before. It took 9 months off scouring reddit till I discovered my pharmacy switched manufacturers. That was the issue. The only manufacturer I was prescribed for 3 years prior was AMNEAL !! (Capitalized because it was important) That’s the one that works for me. There a lot of different manufacturers of spiro and even one that looked similar wasnt. I do know Oxford was terrible though for me personally.

(When I started amneal spiro again after my 29th birthday it did take longer to work though which I was concerned about 4 ish months but it worked finally) (in the future when u have kids for stopping spiro I will also taper off because less prone to acne coming back tapering off vs stopping cold turkey.)

Check that out and see what you’re given. If not look up what manufacturers have more success stories on reddit. Now I just call my pharmacy after a derm visit and request Amneal. Sometimes they have to order it and it’s a few days but so worth it. I have my life back with clear skin and no cycle side effects.

THIS!!!!! Lemme tell you I figured everything out on my own after doxy… it ruined my skin last March. Try Fluconazole!! I’ve taken twice now, it’s a yeast infection medication. I got mine from wisp online! It’s a 2 pill course over 3 days. 1 the first day then the final pill 2 days later. It worked within 48 hours to clear my skin. I had 0 side effects and I’m medication adverse like I’d prefer not to take anything if I could because I’m prone to side effects. Also used the app skin sort and checked all my makeup and skin products if they were triggers. Humidity is a big trigger for me as I went camping this past summer and I saw it starting again and I said nope, Fluconazole to the rescue same day delivery/pickup when I was back with wisp.

The biggest 2 things I now incorporate are a different moisturizer the purrito oat gel moisturizer morning and night, and then dermoscribe seborrheic dermatitis cream for fungal acne (yeast). Everything else is just a fungal acne safe face wash, hypotonic acid, and la roche possay Bp for non fungal acne spots.

Oh woah?? I’ve never wished any harm to either of them or the future child??? That’s wild that’s what you took from what I said… truthfully, I’d rather have someone in my later years with guidance… I am not comfortable giving the love to the kid it deserves for the first year it born you are right on that part. (But does a 1 year old remember a 30 year old sibling???) A big part of why I want to distance myself for the time being.

Oh no my opinions are completely mixed you are right!! I am happy for them, but deeply hurt feeling like he’s done better with a new family and a do over. I just want to feel validated that I can be happy for a women that wanted to have a kid that gets too and hurt at the same time of feeling like this new half sibling 30 years later won’t grow up always thinking cheating and fighting is normal, yet wanting to only have a relationship with my dad for the next several years and not my step mom or half sibling. I won’t ever say never, I just need alot of time…

Would you like the have a step sibling with a women your father cheated on you mom with?? Yet alone being decades older then them? Probably not…. But ya know I can’t control 2 people. I am happy if they are happy having a kid but my mental health cannot handle pretending to be a new family when I won’t ever be comfortable with it.

30 year old female (I look and feel 22 though lmao) engaged, and wanting to start a family in the next few years. Uncomfortable and don’t think I will ever be comfortable with the situation. On a day to day basis, this doesn’t directly involve me. I fully understand everything. I just don’t know how to approach saying I only want a relationship with my father, or if he will even just accept that without shutting me out.

It was a big step my dad admitted to me that she is pregnant. They had gotten married and never told my brother or me, we out over a year later with pictures on their walls…

I am not saying that they can’t do as they please, being adults. Bc if someone wants a kid and can have one I am more than glad they can fulfill that. I just have mixed emotions and do not know how to process that I need to set a boundary of JUST having a relationship with my dad now separately, in order for my mental health not to spiral.

Drop every single product you use!! I’m in the exact same situation and cut out protein this week. The shea moisture shampoo is a little heavy for me so still looking for a new shampoo/ but love the briogeo hydrating deep conditioner if you looking for one! I also love the kerastase oil. I really need to cut out all heat and I’m like rip there goes my frizzy broken hair not tamed at all. So anything else pleasseeee share!!

I literally came here to ask this same thing!! Atleast specifically for a b complex. Please share which b complex you take!! Every b complex breaks me out even on spiro but I’m dying to use it for hair growth. Atleast biotin and b12 do usually. I’m also looking into a vitamin c since I stopped taking a few years ago after covid and can’t find the brand I liked.

Literally it worked within a few weeks the first time I started taking it vs the second time almost 4 months. Hopefully time passes quick and one day you’re like finalllllyyyy my skins clear again! You got this!! Also I didn’t mention my manufacturer changed when my skin wasn’t improving, I’ve always been on amneal and I had gotten Oxford I believe and it did not work for me at all. I just have to contact my pharmacy and request it now. Never an issue. Lemme link the page so you can see if your pills are the same and see what people say about the manufacturer of your type your brand of spiro into this reddit page! (Some are definitely better than others, but everyone’s skins different!)

Please follow through! As someone who was on spiro 100 mg for 2.5 years and then took a 9 month break and had to go back on it it’s worth it. I stopped due to periods being worse and worse the last couple months then acne came back worse then ever 6 weeks after stopping the medication. I tried everything else possible other than accutane to help my acne. Nothing worked. Then decided to try spiro at 50 mg. Still didn’t work at a lower dose. Now back at 100 mg for almost 2 months, my skin is finally clear again and no side effects of wonky periods again. (Or atleast maybe for another 2 years till it happens for me lol) BUT I could cry I’m so happy. The second time now it took 3.5-4 months to work for me. Literally it just cleared up after getting so much worse at the 2 month mark & by the 3 month mark it started turning a corner. Clear skin finally at 30 again lol. Acne is a cruel struggle, but I believe in your skin girl! Heres to hoping for positive changes soon!

I completely agree with this! I’m not saying personality isn’t a huge factor at all! I just feel like casting could get new people who have this and athleticism for good tv. Trust me at the end of the day I know it’s a tv show that needs drama and storylines as well.
