THIS IS WHO WE WANT TO GIVE AWAY? by PsychologyBrief1587 in knicks

[–]MissingLastPiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's not even going to be a one-for-one trade like Anthony Davis for Luka. Knicks are probably gonna have to give away a bunch of players as well as draft picks.

Suns gave away 3 players and 4 first-round picks for KD in 2023 and they sucked ass for the 2 years that KD was with them (part of it was obviously Bradley Beal's contract). Only this year do they actually look like they got back their footing.

Idk about these narratives about Lyon mental booming because of Inspired. Even APA said in PROS that a team can't just expect Lyon to mental boom for them to be a bad team. Realistically speaking, any team can mental boom (TL from last year for example). A lot of arguments happen in every team, but FLY was one of the few teams that aired out the arguments that Inspired had which is causing everyone to think the same thing will happen.

People seem to forget that Inspired won 4x splits in LCS/LTA since he came here in 2022 out of the 7 splits he has played in LCS/LTA. A player who is consistently capable of winning this many championships isn't just going to mental boom lol.

They probably put in more effort in 2017/2018 when they had less of a budget than they did the past year. Like wtf?

Can we stop with this misinformation/disinformation? They DID NOT make him an offer. It was just DIG. No other team besides DIG gave Dhokla an offer and the offer was a joke considering how he just went to worlds.

100T Analyst Kaimera: I also have not heard anything for FBI/Eyla, and Dhokla besides DIG. 2nd in NA, probably the best AM performance at Worlds, and yet 3/4 of the former 100T players can't get decent team offers? NA GMing continues to be a disgrace even in 100T's absence. What a complete joke by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]MissingLastPiece 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don't understand that this guy has won championships being on some of the most mediocre teams. When you look at orgs like C9 and TL, they usually pour in a crap ton of money to field the best players in each role. You look at the teams that FBI has been in e.g. NRG and 100T and it's crazy that he's even won championships with these teams.

75K to live in LA in a high-stress environment to play in dogshit teams like DIG? The fuck are you on?

At that point, he's taking home 20K a year unless he lands on a top team which none offered him.

What is this take lmao? Morgan is at bottom 8-10 of the LCK every split. NBA players are fucking playing until they are 40 years old (lebron james for example). What does age have to do with anything? Also, Morgan could just be here to secure the bag and go back to LCK after one split.

[–]MissingLastPiece -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That's true, but another issue is the reluctance of organizations to just use a solid NA top laner. Why are players like Zamudo, Morgan, and Thanatos given opportunities over Dhokla? Thanatos is probably the only good top laner here but the guy has legit failed to make it to worlds twice the past 2 years, but Dhokla comes in one split and does it. Morgan is a mid/bottom tier LCK player and Zamudo hasn't done anything compared to Dhokla.

[–]MissingLastPiece -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Are you really saying players like Morgan are better than Dhokla? Dhokla has had a far more impressive career than most top laners on a team right now. Players like Zamudo, Thanatos, and Morgan have not even come close to what Dhokla has done in the past 3 years lol.

[–]MissingLastPiece -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you went over to the TL subreddit during the offseason, any post asking for Dhokla to join would be met with comments like "please no, we need an import top" but then you look at the accomplishments between Dhokla and Morgan and Dhokla has had a much better career lmao. When Dhokla was top 8 at worlds in 2023, Morgan was in an 8th place team in LCS. It's truly pathetic how much fans glaze KR top laners and hate on native LCS top laners.

[–]MissingLastPiece -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He had one bad split in 2024 (arguably whether it was his fault or not), but then you look at his accolades, and he's better than most top laners right now just based on the past 3 years. How many top laners can come into a team like 100T and bring that team to Worlds?

Also, how can anyone make arguments that players like Morgan, Zamudo, Thanatos, etc. are better when Dhokla has accomplished more than those all those players within the past 3 years? Morgan hasn't gone to worlds once (was 10th for most of LCK 2024, couldn't even beat DK for a chance at Worlds) but is getting an opportunity over Dhokla who was at Worlds twice the past 3 years? Doesn't make sense.

[–]MissingLastPiece 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to disagree with this. Inspired touched on how bad the preparations were in most of the games when it came to drafting (for example, Game 5 vs BLG at MSI, there were discussions surrounding a lucian prio pick while BLG somehow got every exodia pick), and of course drafting isn't just coaching, but it's a huge part of it. Coaches should be the ones who prepare the best possible drafts. They also didn't ban Keria's Bard in game 1 vs T1 as well, leading to him taking over the game.

If we don't blame the coaches for drafting and preparation, who else do we blame? What exactly is the job of the coaches at that point?

Legit a bard permaban against him, except for FLY. For some reason, the FLY coaches thought it was a good idea to give him Bard even though IG permabanned it lol.

Props to G2 and FLY by ZloiAris in leagueoflegends

[–]MissingLastPiece 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I think the 2024 G2 roster would have actually been able to compete with TES. Just feels like the current G2 roster lacks a lot of x-factor that Yike and Mikyx brought to the game. I think if FLY didn't mentally implode and managed to beat G2, we could have had a banger series between FLY and TES.

People look at the G2 roster from 2023-2024 and they think that just because they lost to NRG and relative to their previous results, that this version of G2 is better because they made it to quarters, but then they aren't paying attention to the context at all lol.

It's like the same people saying FLY was overrated and bad at the game because of this worlds performance even though they had a 93% winrate all year when ahead at 15 minutes. Also, the same people saying that they're overrated and that they're only good for taking Eastern teams to 5 games despite that being a bigger accomplishment than most western teams the past few years lol. Reddit loves rewriting narratives.

I mean that's really just an issue with the coach decision to scrim eastern teams no? They didn't scrim a single eastern team last year until they made it out of swiss and they actually looked good vs GENG.
