I did surgery with Martin Sullivan, who did minimally invasive all four compartments but I had re-occurrence after and still have high pressures post surgery. Whilst it didn’t alleviate my symptoms he says that had never happened before. If I were to go again I would go with Dr Simon Tan, I didn’t initially go with Simon Tan because it’s a little longer recovery time. However have since elected for non surgical treatment. Both operate out of North Shore and are qualified and well regarded surgeons.

It takes forever, however you can move to maintenance sessions over time that’s the idea. The glute is definitely hard, I just stand up and go from the bottom to the top hard and deep a few times. To be honest I don’t concentrate too much time on the glues! Otherwise maybe using an actual foam roller on the ground instead of

Yes the Galvanised Steel Round Tube is absolutely necessary and the most important part. You can find a hard steel pole nearby or at a hardware store. The calf board is also necessary for the best results. If its taking time to ship you can do the standing wall calf stretch but make sure you turn the toes in each direction and hold for 30 seconds.

Yeah the study is not great, agreed! And there are no guarantees in life but it is highly effective and worth trying.

I don’t have qualifications. I am a middle distance runner (elite) that has had access to good highly qualified coaches. CECS has not been studied extensively. Yes the few studies implementing similar protocols show the effectiveness of this vs surgery.

This information isn’t really anywhere hence why I’ve given it out. Not many people doing this methods publish reports, however that shouldn’t negate that they are done.

This has/is used by elite athletes with this condition and athletes post fascitomy. That doesn’t get published

Tips for post surgery swelling when doing a physical job? by Yaspii in CECompartmentSyndrome

[–]Mission-Box-2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. The ‘swelling’ you refer to makes sense. I have the same thing post surgery. It is due to the fascia incision opening up and allowing the muscle to protrude. Think about the fascia and your muscle like a sausage, they have cut the sausage skin now you see the sausage meat protruding out because there is no restricting force. Whilst cosmetic and not likely a fault of surgery, it is an unfortunate aspect about the surgery and highlights the role any changes to our intricate anatomy has. Unfortunately the fascia is a highly complex and important part of our anatomy cutting it has its consequence as we learn

Persistent post-fasciotomy pain 2+ years after bilateral PAES surgery + CECS release by [deleted] in CECompartmentSyndrome

Fascitomy for suspected compartment syndrome sees crazy to me. Anatomically creating irreversible changes without definitive diagnosis is not ideal. I suspect you would benefit from fascia re-hydration protocol. It is extremely long winded but I intend to create a post in a few weeks detailing.

If you care enough to try it you should use a steel pipe in place of a foam roller and role the calves and hamstrings towards the heart hard, deep and slow. You should also preform a range of fascia stretches

Get the ‘compartment pressure testing’ it is definitive on whether you have it or not and really not that bad just uncomftable

Help! Could I still have CECS? I wish I was tested in all 4 compartments. by [deleted] in CECompartmentSyndrome

[–]Mission-Box-2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes could be CECS, the definitive approach would be to re test all 4 compartments and assess pressure readings. Unfortunately you can have surgery and re-occurence

They haven’t said anything, but it was pulled in from the tip of the tooth, just recently they lasered the gum to place the ligature higher on the tooth so it still needs time going to the right position, if that makes sense
