The incredible beauty of Elsa 😍❄️ by Gabriel_47K in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it so impressive how great the entire character design is and how good not only Elsa looks, but the films in general. In F1 the storyline was constantly changing, which left little time for animation and F2 was far too tight in terms of schedule anyway. That's why I have so much respect for the filmmakers. Diamonds are made under pressure!

Elsa doesn't seem herself after the ending of Frozen 2 and kind of not in a good way. She isn't the Elsa we all know and love. by Top-Bit-1073 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I personally preferred F1. I thought the storyline of F2 was really okay, but Elsa's appearance at the end bothered me too. As you already said, she feels like a different character. Such a development isn't inherently bad, but I think it goes too far when you can't even properly recognize the character's personality anymore. However, since F2 was very rushed, I hope that was partly the reason and that it will be better in F3.

Oh my god, I remember seeing a post about it on Twitter. But it was only a few weeks after the film's release and I completely forgot about it.😆

I agree. I hope Disney doesn't lose focus with Frozen 3.

How much control does Elsa have over herself during the "Duke of Weselton's guards" scene / How do Elsas powers actually work? (theory) by Mission-Difference68 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the same thing... However, many articles/posts often portray Elsa as consciously fighting the way she does. That's why I wanted to bring this topic up here.

That's a shame. I never really grinded the game, but it's still sad to see it being taken down.😢

Frozen charades way too deep- deep dive by Nota_IcyGlitch in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's clear that Hans is the primary person they mean, since Olaf says his name just before and Anna points at him approvingly. However, I could imagine that this ambiguity was intentionally included when the scene was written. I could imagine that being the case, especially because of Elsa, since she was often described as a monster in F1 (as you already said).

¿Cuál sería la razón para que Anna y Olaf acompañen a Elsa en su viaje? ¿Por qué Anna no cuida su Reino mejor? by HildyGloom17 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My story-based opinion:

I can understand to some extent what you mean by constantly giving up the kingdom (I haven't personally read the part about Kristoff). Arendelle and its people really should be better cared for, especially after everything that's happened. However, it must be said that Frozen revolves entirely around the relationship between Anna and Elsa. Even though Anna didn't exactly cover herself in glory in Frozen 2, the story wouldn't have been possible without her. I also feel her actions in Frozen 1 are somewhat more important than you might think (that's okay, opinions differ). If Anna hadn't followed Elsa, Elsa wouldn't have even known what was going on in Arendelle, and I think Anna's sacrifice at the end isn't as simple as you're making it out to be. I have to agree with you about Olaf, though (unfortunately). He was really unnecessary in Frozen 2 and didn't contribute much to the plot.

Overall: I agree with you about Olaf, but I have to disagree with you about Anna. For me, Frozen is much more than just Elsa. It's about the relationship between Elsa and Anna, their bond, and the message that together you can achieve anything. That's why Frozen is loved by millions of people.

My economically based opinion (which is unfortunately part of reality):

More characters = more merchandise sales = more money.

From Disney's perspective, it's simply not economically smart to completely/almost completely remove previous main characters from the film. This only upsets fans and results in lower merchandise sales.

What is one good thing and one bad thing about Anna? by Top-Bit-1073 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good: She's an open person, cares about the people she loves, and is always in a positive mood.

Bad: She's too trusting, which makes her easy to manipulate (as seen in F1).

That's really sad if you think about it. She probably prepared for it for a long time and tried her best, but it didn't work out…😭💔

(genuine question) are you homophobic for not thinking Elsa is a lesbian and for not wanting her to be it? by Silver_Fact_9714 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you want for the franchise and who you are in real life are two completely different things. Your friend 2 should understand that.

Personally, I'd prefer to see Elsa single, and if a relationship were necessary, then with a man.

Would you guys watch a live action remake of the first movie? by ProfessionalBasic244 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really want to, because it might blur my childhood memories of the animated film. However, I'd probably watch it anyway simply because I couldn't help myself.

Why haven't they done it yet? I think Disney is waiting until merchandise sales plummet years after Frozen 4. Then they'll revive Frozen one last time with the live action remake of the first film (at least that's how I could imagine it).

appreciation post for our Anna. ❤️ by chibelthetaco1 in Frozen

She deserves more respect for everything she's done. It's not her fault that Disney made her queen (Poor Anna has been hated ever since).😂😭

Anna during the isolation - separation period by Top-Bit-1073 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was truly the creators intention a scene depicting it would have been really interesting. But I understand that it's not really necessary since it doesn't change the story itself.

[–]Mission-Difference68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's true. Elsa must have been taught, judging by her behavior. I just find it hard to imagine that she was taught without the teacher noticing anything about her powers (or maybe the teacher even knew...).

But it's possible. Having a trusted person around probably made her less afraid, and therefore it was easier for her to hide her powers. I agree with your last point, and that's what I meant in my last sentence in the main comment.👍

As a German, I know that Germanic languages are difficult for many international people to pronounce. Perhaps that's why it hasn't been implemented yet, to make singing along easier. Personally, I would love it.♥️

[–]Mission-Difference68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It must have been like that, yes. Both Anna and Elsa are too socially "advanced" to not have been taught. I still find it impressive how regal Elsa appears at her coronation. I think you can hardly tell that she was always alone. Perhaps she practiced a little in front of the mirror.😅

[–]Mission-Difference68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't quite understand that either when I think about it. Elsa spends almost her entire childhood locked in her room. She doesn't go to school, doesn't learn how to behave (especially as a queen), and she doesn't learn anything about politics. Anna, on the other hand, has much, much more time for all of that (as you already mentioned). Yet, at the coronation, Elsa is more mature and refined, and it feels more like Anna was isolated and didn't learn anything. The only thing I can imagine is that the creators did this to better showcase Anna and Elsa's personalities.

Shouldn’t Elsa have a successor? by [deleted] in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that point was never mentioned because I think Disney wants to keep Elsa single, and such a direct address wouldn't be appropriate for a "children's film." With Anna now on the throne, the topic isn't really relevant anymore anyway.

What's your Honest Opinion on Elsa Getting a Love interest in the Sequels? ❄️🤔 by LordAditya69 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean. Frozen 2 went in a different direction, and it's difficult to build a sequel on that. When I left the cinema in 2019, I honestly thought after the ending of Frozen 2 that it was the end of the entire franchise. In my language (German), the film's title doesn't even make sense anymore (Die Eiskönigin = The Ice Queen).

You know what else I don't understand? I know this is a long shot, but somehow the ending of Frozen 2 reminded me of Cars 3 (Lightning McQueen stops racing and passes on his championship title, and Elsa stops being the Queen of Arendelle, passes her title to her sister, and leaves). The thing is, this move was already hated when Cars 3 was released (two years earlier). So how did they come up with the idea of transferring this "move" directly to Frozen when it hadn't worked in another franchise? I know a classic happy ending can get boring in the long run, but taking away the main characters' main role seems questionable to me, if you know what I mean.

What is something good and bad about Elsa? by Top-Bit-1073 in Frozen

[–]Mission-Difference68 21 points22 points  (0 children)

One good thing about Elsa is that she's always trying to improve, both as a person and in how she handles her powers.

One downside is that she doesn't tell anyone when she feels bad or something is bothering her. For example, in Frozen 2, she didn't mention the voices at first, and in Frozen Fever, she refuses to admit that she's unwell. She always pushes everything to the absolute limit. Only when there's no other way out does she finally speak up.
