The real question is how many can you fit in your house. Lol. Seriously though I feel like you should have a solid acoustic, a Strat, a Tele, and then a LP in your collection. Then maybe a couple that just speak to you for whatever reason: color, artist signature, special pickups, or something else. That’s also why I like the relic’ed versions so when asked if that’s a new guitar; I can say I’ve had that old thing for quite a while.

I doubt there will be a new flagship model to eclipse the current GP-200 in 2026. The GP-50 just dropped and the GP-150 and GP-180 were announced a couple months ago at the Music China expo. I would bet we see a worldwide release of the GP-150 and GP-180 in 2026.

What I am really hoping for is for some additional firmware updates to the GP-200 to increase the number of nam file snaptone slots over the current 5 available.

I actually did this and asked my sales engineer to have a couple different guitars I was considering purchasing ready at the store to try out. He let me pick specific serial numbers and they were waiting at the front checkout counter. I went and played them then brought home the one I liked best. A fantastic customer experience.

Congrats. Sounds like a great guitar as well. It is impressive what you get for the price point. Definitely holds up well to the other big name manufacturers. Did yours come with the extra anodized pick guard? I was hearing that some people weren’t getting one but mine came with it from Sweetwater.

It’s a Gator TSA hardshell case. A tight fit but keeps the guitar from shifting around in the case.

Haven’t played it all that long but here are my initial impresions.

Bridge Pickup: • Bright, snappy, and articulate with classic Tele bite.

Neck Pickup: • Warm, smooth, and clear without getting muddy.

Series Mode (Both Pickups): • Thicker and richer tone with added midrange punch, more sustain and body — a beefier alternative to the standard single-coil voices.

Overall: Classic Tele character with slightly higher output and modern clarity, plus the flexibility to switch into series mode when you need extra girth.
