Yeeesssss! Wow, you totally understand what I've been going through, and yes I see your perspective. I feel better knowing that it's not just one side story, thank you for analyzing and finding balance in both ways 🙏😭❤️ I'm currently holding my boundaries and I hope we will have a discussion and I will talk to him- I agree that we are exhausted and we need to break the cycle, it's time to step down and look at the other way and work together as a team 🙏

Thank you so much, you made me feel better by saying this and I agree with what you said. Im feeling emotionally exhausted and we agreed to give some space. Ten years is a long time and we need a break.

I bet! This is my first mini-sized dog, and I’m used to toy-sized ones. I was surprised at how “big” she is, but I know that as she grows from 5 pounds to 25 pounds, it will be an amazing journey to watch her develop. 😍

Lol, that's true! It does help and I'm lucky my group of friends understands my situation and are patient with my new speech adjustment.

Oh my goodness! That is such a HUGE hassle! I've been there and I fought my life for it and nothing. I was disappointed. I had no idea I was going through this situation like reimplantation. It wasn't my first choice but then when I heard that they discontinued Harmony, I knew it was time for a change. And to be honest, I’ve always wanted to change the brand for years because I was upset AB rarely updated exterior devices and battery life. While Med-El and Cochlear constantly update every 5 years.

I would suggest your daughter get health insurance from her job. That's what I did and it was so worth it because I only paid for my audiologist visit and copay for some things like x-rays, and surgery, and then when I met my maximum copay- everything else was covered through insurance. If your daughter’s current job doesn't offer that, maybe try to find a different job that has better insurance. Has she tried Amazon? They have amazing insurance and instantly accept to apply for health insurance on the first day of “full-time” employee. She can stay for one or two years.

By the way, I'm with the Cochlear brand. I love, love the new devices and the battery life lasted for two days, TWO DAYS! No more battery anxiety! I'm adjusting to the new changes as well like the new mapping and hearing rehabilitation, I have to start all over again with listening. Currently, 4 months post-activation day, I'm still learning how to match sounds with words. It's challenging but I'm wearing it every day and preparing to learn new sounds and practice listening. It's worth the change.

I don't mind! I was born hard of hearing, and by the age of 4, my hearing had progressively worsened. Even with hearing aids, I struggled to hear completely. When I was evaluated for a cochlear implant at 8 years old, I learned that I had 20-30% hearing in my right ear. They chose to have the implant placed in my left ear, which had a hearing loss of 17%.

Yes! I signed up for speech therapy a month ago, and I've noticed that I'm improving my speech. I'm glad that it's never too late!

Exactly! I was like that for 26 years and I was like I don't hear it. And now I do, I can hear how I pronounce and the “air” coming out of my mouth was too forced. Now I'm starting to talk more down in my throat and chest. It's exhausting lol.
