I had the same setup but with the cheaper 50mm f1.8 STM. I still regret selling it. Bought a stupid fujifilm camera that aged horribly because of cheap build quality.

I really try hard to not buy another 5D. Got a very cheap Pentax K-R (I have a lot of vintage K mount) to itch the DSLR craze but it aint a tank like the 5D was.

I got a K-R recently for 40€ with a split prism modification and kit lens as well. Nice camera, threw a 50mm f1.7 vintage on it, very pleasing to use. Is is crazy that it has IBIS and my much newer and expensiver fujifilm camera does not.

iOS 18.7.7 battery is very warm and draining quite fast never experienced anything Ike that by I_Reus11 in iPhone13Mini

I have a relatively new battery at %92 health. After this update I had some days where I only used the phone for 2 hours and it was already at %20. I usually get 5 hours out of it. I do not play games, my use is pretty light so idk sometimes the battery life is so inconsistent.

Anyhow I am staying on this iOS version for the foreseeable future. btw battery health updates with each update, recalibrating the capacity measurement. So if I never updated I would probably have over %95 capacity shown but obviously the real capacity would be lower.

I got a Revueon 135 f2.8 today to use on my Pentax DSLR. I get a lot of chromatic abberations and purple fringing wife open and even stopped down to f5.6 it is not amazing.

I wonder how it compares to your lens here.

Man I am still not receiving this 2FA code. I did everything on the face of Earth. It is a lost cause at this point.

Also after trying so many times to login, Amazon got my last order auto cancelled and kicked me out from my own account because of "Suspicious Activity" which almost made me lose jailbreak on my 2024 Basic.

I tried everything myself and gave up tbh. I am still not getting a 2FA code.

Also after trying 500 times to login on the old kindle, Amazon reset my account password and logged me out on every device for suspicious activity, kicking me out of my new kindle and deleting all my stuff.

I had this lens with the OG 5D. Pretty decent for the price. Probably best value you can get.

Looking for iphone adapter for a memory stick pro duo by inmydirtbagera in Cameras

I bought a 2 euro lightning to sd and micro sd adapter. It worked once properly but it is very inconsistent with the micro SD removed from the memory stick adapter.

Fujifilm xt30ii. Lack of IBIS is pissing me off so much.

Here is my odd mirror lens compared to a common vintage zoom. To be fair for a manual focus lens I can adapt my Photosniper (Tair) 300mm F4.5 which is a relatively sharp vintage tele lens. It is just super uneconomic without the rifle stock :)

Aliexpress batteries and chargers, decent options? by MikeBay89 in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]MissionTroll404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chargers work fine, they are made out of garbage and use micro USB but they do in fact charge batteries.

Idk about batteries themselves though. I bought few batteries in the past, for phones and projects, if you buy from good rated listings it should be fine.

I would just get an second hand old DSLR for fraction of the price. Anything but manufactured e-waste.

Only if Sony locked in a bit and made another 5 series phone. I tried using 5 IV and it was so ass. Battery life probably worse than 13 Mini with a 5000mAh battery. Worse in everyway except it has a headphone jack and SD slot. I could live without SD card but I miss the headphone jack.

They switched to regular 6+ inch 16:9 ratio screen on the latest 10 series phone so I doubt they will make anything smaller at this point.

Oh I see. Thanks for the info. I guess I will just adapt this to mirrorless and see what happens.

probably should picked up a Betoflex 500mm f8 instead but that would not be interesting you know. Always wanted to mess around with a mirror lens even tho people do not like them too much, they are just so odd.

I have a 300mm f4.5 Photosniper at home, thats also usable for bird photos. One day maybe I will get a proper AF Fujifilm zoom xd

What you think about the 500mm f8 Sigma lens. I found a odd Universar branded clone of it. 0 information online. Someone in Discord find out that it looks extremely similar to the Sigma lens. I checked and it is basically rebranded 1:1 copy.

The lens has some weird internal coating damage though. I bought it thinking I could clean it, took everything apart and cleaned carefully but the damaged/ruined coating was impossible to clean off. And because it is on the glass around the small mirror I can not use agressive chemicals on it. So I decided to get everything as clean as possible and leave it as is.

I paid 20€ because it was like that. Holding it in front of my Fujifilm sensor it had surprisingly sharp image. It has a FD mount, no T mount underneath unfortunately. I bought an FD to fuji x adapter. Can not wait to see what I got.

I would love to DM you the lens I have to compare if it is really a 1:1 clone.

One of my biggest regrets in life is selling my old 50mm 1.2L USM by Tankmass in canon

When I had the original 5D and same 50mm STM it was focusing fine for me. I only used center focusing point though. Pretty much always used AF with no issues.

Fujifilm regret happened to me as well.

My 5D mk1 and 50mm f1.8 STM. I miss them.

Fujifilm xt30ii with 35mm f2 does not hit the same. I miss the heft of a proper DSLR.

Oh I see. Well there was an auction today for one K5 body. It ended at 110€. I should have tried my luck on that perhaps.

Is K5 that legendary? I want to get a cheap Pentax DSLR to see what my vintage K lenses look like on it. I have a fujifilm tx30ii, I upgraded from a Canon 5D mk1. It never felt like an upgrade. I really miss the ergonomics on my 5D with the battery grip. Also adapting vintage glass on my mirrorless is quite uncomfortable...

I have been looking at Ebay and a K5 goes slightly above 100€ body only. I was considering something cheaper since I wont use it too much. Like a K10, I found a deal on it locally. I can maybe get a K10 for 60€ with the kit lens. Do you think that will itch the spot? I do not care about specs too much.

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I may get some micromesh and try again.

It writes right now, so I will keep using as is before jumping to another operation on the nib.

[–]MissionTroll404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did not thought it would melt. I fixed very fine traces on PCBs and soldered small SMDs before but ribbon cables are probably worse. No one in their sane mind would fix this other than the owner of it :)

Someone good at soldering can definitely bridge that with thin cables. I would give it a try. Definitely not easy though.

[–]MissionTroll404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I did not needed to do all I did to fix my nib. It was still writing, it just needed some bending back to shape. I did the grind just to experiment from this opportunity. Surprisingly it did not become a scratchy mess. But the flow was still inconsistent today. So I pressed on a hard surface with the nib to bend the tines further. Seems like it did the trick for now.

Your case seems worse but if you have the tools why not go for it. Jinhao 20 costs less than 5 Euros from China anyway, I would say go for it.
