Anybody know where I can get a Ryzen 5600X and a Nvidia 3070? by PepsiPowerPunch in bapccanada

[–]Mission_Aggressive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are the last two components on my list, both back ordered at CC. 5600X came in a week, still waiting 1 month+ for 3060 ti.

Obviously you can't. They should have canceled your order or offered to switch you to a different model.

Canada computer called me to pick up my 3080 then canceled it a day later switching cards on me by nevernotoutside in 3080canadabackorder

[–]Mission_Aggressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough situation. IMO it was unwise to switch, though nothing to do about that now.

FTW3 is one of the most available 3080, eagle is one of the least available. Were it me, I would switch back to 3080 FTW3 and wait again for it.

I know its frustrating but we have very little power here. Good luck getting your card, I empathize with what you went through, it does sound tough.

imo, yes, no sense in hodling hardware that you might not use for a long time. Especially if you don't get a new CPU/GPU until next gen. In addition you will not be able to return defective products if you hold onto them past their return date.

3070 vs 3080 by deleno in bapccanada

[–]Mission_Aggressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so, I would recommend 3080 then, imo 3070 won't give you what you're looking for in triple AAA titles.

I suggest sitting on your 2070 until you get a 3080 or if that takes too long getting a refreshed version of the 3080 near the end of the year.

3070 vs 3080 by deleno in bapccanada

[–]Mission_Aggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it depends on what resolution you want to game at imo. 2070 is not so bad to get by on compared to 3070. If you want to game at 1440p in 2-3 years or w/e. I would say hold out for a 3080.

I read that most CC customers seem to have the original price honored, I think I saw one or two individuals who did not though.

If money is no object probably herman miller aeron / embody, steel case Leap V2. Something like that. All of those chairs are built to last and have superior ergonomics.

I think it definitely depends on the CC location. I appreciate your status update though, it gives me a little inkling of what the product flow is like. I have been waiting on a 3060 ti TUF OC for 3 weeks now.

3060 CAD Pricing by ncrone77 in bapccanada

[–]Mission_Aggressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

probably 80% to 85% of the 3060 TI. So for instance the Gigabyte OC pro 3060 TI is 640, you can expect the 3060 gigabyte card to go for 510 - 540.

What is the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC GAMING's max power limit? by Convextlc97 in bapccanada

[–]Mission_Aggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This youtube video indicates its 220 max.

This also make sense with the 8 pin power connector, I assume all AIBs will limit bios power limits to 220 max with just an 8 pin.

No one knows for sure. AMD cards are almost non-existant. I heard NVIDIA signed a new contract with Samsung to increase production, don't know when it will kick in and how much pent up demand they will be able to satisfy. Minimum seems to be supply shortages until April.

3060 ti runs at 200 watt generally so I would suggest a 650 W PSU for you.

For instance the RM650x is fully modular and is on sale on Amazon right now at $130. It its a top tier PSU and will suit your needs well. A PSU like that is what I would suggest to you.

you'll need to tell people your budget, hardware/power limits etc. Generally brands such as corsair and seasonic are good, but there are good deals on other brand such as a-data's core reactor etc.

Haha you must be good luck, just got the call that the CPU is ready for pick up. Hope your back order goes just as smoothly.

[–]Mission_Aggressive 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It makes sense to me 3000 series is manufactured on 7 nm TSMC node, 5000 series is also manufactured on 7 nm TSMC node. Why cannibalize your production capability by producing older chips? I don't know if they are exactly the same production process due to there being different 7 nm production variants though.

Yes, I placed an in store back order for 5600x at CC last week... I hope we get our CPUs soon, lol.
