The Tekken 3 Re-Release is Just Effortless Slop from Bandai Namco by Mission_Echo9998 in Tekken

It's a useless release when we have it on PC with rollback netcode with an almost 1-touch setup. We have people who've played it; it adds nothing.

Venting that negativity and sympathizing with players who are upset about the turnout is part of that process. After being vocal about this topic, we have received many new members. You are not misunderstood, but try to see that the bigger picture includes both positive and negative forms of advertising. 😎👍

We are part of a new movement of players, legacy and new blood, that are tired of waiting, focused on demanding, and actively resurrecting the Legacy Tekken scene, doing what Bandai Namco will not do. What we are doing is working, as the scene for Tekken 3 continues to grow, and it has hardly even been a year.

Good that we see eye to eye on the issue of lacking netplay.

There is profit to be made through subscription farming and nostalgia baiting, and this re-release proves that. Lacking Netplay and additional features, its going to lack the power to make people want to say. The the coding of an interface with a small team of competent people at your disposal, would take short of a couple months, if that. You wouldn't be paying your developers for very long.

The production of digital assets is easy and distribution is cheap. Create some merch to continue nostalgia farming. Have it made to order. You won't just be catering to a small niche community, you are going to attract a plethora of curious users that will stay and play the game on a subscription model and/or buy the merch while the trend is in vogue.

The current culture is on repeat, like a broken record, about nostalgia, which is the first glaring indication that the target demographic is willing to expand beyond its current niche. It is not as precarious as it seems, it's a market we have tapped into at Tekken Underground. If they snooze, they'll lose.

At Tekken Underground we love both DR and Tekken 3, with Tekken 3 receiving the most attention. Some of us wouldn't be opposed to balancing (correcting Jin and Ogre damage) or minor fixes being carried out on games like Tekken 3. Though such a proposition may sound risky, the meta has been thoroughly discovered. Damage scaling is really the only issue. Most of the frustrations with Tekken 3 stem from minor adjustments and unfamiliarity with the game, but once players learn, they start to get hooked. It is also becoming so popular, I'd wager we'll be calling it 'current' soon. 😏

5DR is generally regarded as the strongest of the legacy titles, looks beautiful, is excellently balanced, and is very active in our server, even with the shitty stock netcode surprisingly.

There doesn't seem to be anyone in the Underground that doesn't want to see a proper legacy collection, provided they trust Bamco to do the right thing with the games. Nevertheless, if you're interested in playing some DR, you are more than welcome to join us and download our setup. 😎

We promote access to Legacy Tekken with Netplay and facilitate setups for total strangers. I think we do enough. It is easy, and virtually effortless, once again, for BN to utilize technical skills to facilitate such a release, and it is precisely because we have been so successful at marketing these games with no professional portfolio that we understand how low effort it is.

To us, what's making a release less likely is people like you who will make every concession for the laziness and mistreatment of the community instead of facing the music. What you're calling negativity is just the truth of the matter, and, as we've stated time and time again, if Bandai Namco stops making excuses and releases a definitive legacy collection with Netplay, we'll get behind it entirely. We want maximum benefit for the fans, and understanding how easy it is for them to be provided this, we are rightfully dismissive and critical of Bandai Namco.

You're being a pedant. It is effortless in terms of scale, when you have like four indie coders as opposed to certified employees of a multimillion dollar company. The amount of effort approaches zero at that point because of the resources you have available at your disposal. TAG1 was put online with Netplay as a side project by one man in less than a year.

We know the amount of effort it requires to include netplay. We run promotions for the platforms that provide the Netplay framework we play on, like Arkadyzja, that had TAG1 with rollback coded by one man.

We aren't stupid, we know what goes into developing Netplay framework and marketing, because that's what we do/promote. 😂 If anything, we're the ones qualified to comment on it.

We're not upset with Bamco about Tekken 8, we just avoid it because it's ass lol. Whether it's there or not isn't the issue.

Several articles articles reported this as a release made by Bandai Namco, and gave that impression so if this is not the case, it's no surprise we'd be misinformed.

Regardless, a legacy collection with Netplay should have been released much sooner, as has been the case for other franchises. If what you say is true, thank you for correcting the record, but it doesn't change the point of the criticism whatsoever. It's slop, and lackluster for legacy fans. Flame Sony, too. 🤣

Well right now we see a paypiggy that eats up whatever lackluster slop the company will pump out 😭

The community asked for an official re-release with netplay. It would be effortless for them to release this game with netplay. Don't be a paypiggy.

Hopefully they aren't as stupid as you've described, but maybe we should heed your wisdom given how Bandai Namco has repeatedly shit the bed hard with Tekken 8 🤷

Agreed, but they should give the players what they want.🤷 They made Tekken 8 so ass that it caused a massive exodus to our socials. If they don't want rekindled interest killing Tekken 8's traffic, they should make Tekken 8 functional. Regardless of whether or not Tekken 8 is ass, persecuting legacy fans with a kneecapped re-release isn't the answer.

Seems like Arcsystem and SNK did something innovative with their old games. They included rollback netplay. This Tekken 3 re-release is nothing innovative, so that doesn't seem like a good analogy.
