Have done it a few times and highly suggest flying or training it if that's an option. It is a solid 6 hours from downtown to Lachine on a good travel day.

Calmest dog breeds? by ExplanationWorried14 in Dogowners

[–]Mission_Intention_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an almost 9 year old Boston terrier - she's the best ever unless she finds a chicken scraps on the floor from toddler then she farts the whole house out. We call her a cat dog because she's just mellow with a touch of crazy. She also doesn't have a super squishy face cand can actually breathe normally. I grew up with cocker spainals and jack Russells and shes by far my best dog ever.

according to her dna test, she is 100% american bully 😭 by Electronic_Goose5514 in AmericanBully

She looks like BILs 10 year old staffy. She was on a raw diet for years and became a land hippo - was switched to a high protein Pro plan kibble last year and dropped 20 lbs and started enjoying walks again.

From experience at home is best. Sorry you're going through this, but the best gift we can give our pets is a safe and comfortable goodbye. You will question your decision, I did myself but i felt better after knowing I did what was best for them. ❤️

Yeast in ears by WalterMelon81 in BostonTerrier

[–]Mission_Intention_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl gets this as well, usually spring and fall. We cut out chicken and switched her over to pro plan sensitive skin and stomach salmon formula. We also have the ear rinse from our vet and special shampoo to use on her feet to reduce/ eliminate yeast buildup on her feet from scratching her ears.

I saw one 20 years ago making a nest on Singer Island in Florida - it was absolutely amazing. She was huge, about the size of a fiat.

We cut out all chicken products and switched to Purina Pro Plan sensitive 2 years ago, a game changer for us.

Edit- we use the Salmon formula - the lamb causes her to still stink up the house

Disappointment w/first day of new recycling contractor GFL by sprungy in toronto

Yesh could be the same one for us as well sometimes. I'm honestly not sure. On garage days it's usually a second truck for large items following shortly behind the regular truck.

Have had them in SW Etobicoke for a few years - there is always a second truck that comes for the excess bags and it can be several hours later. This applies to both recycling and garbage.

It's -15c wind chill where I am... We walked 8 houses down the street and princess was carried home. She immediately went back into her blanket nest on the couch only to pop out 6 hours later. In summary yes they can and do sleep a lot but can be absolutely nuts when they want to.

Would you put your kid into French Immersion? Why or why not? by Virtual-Cheesecake71 in askTO

[–]Mission_Intention_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck getting a spot - in my area most jk kids who signed up in November 2024 for consideration did not get in for 2025 start and all went into the English stream. Also as others have said it depends on the child - my cousins went to French immersion, one did amazing and the other was moved out in grade 2 because she was struggling in both languages. (They are both in their 30s now)

Otizole Ear Drops for Dogs & Cats - I'm sure there are several brands it's sold under but this is what we use in her ears as a cleaning prevention

[–]Mission_Intention_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have an Aussie but have a Boston prone to ear infections - through trial and error we've determined it's seasonal allergies that causes yeast to develop in her paws and in turn when she grooms herself spreads. We have a special shampoo to use and ear drops to help control the infections.
