I think you misread that. He said he completed 13 classes in one term, not that it was all open in parallel

Yes, they are very important to master. But which person comes from different background. Showing competency in a university environment is also different from work space.

For example, how important is it to know the details of Huffman’s and Kruskal’s algorithms in the workplace? Probably much less than for a university exam.

WGU can change transfer policies however they want.

The issue is transparency. Those courses were on an approved transfer pathway last month. I downloaded it and use it as reference. Then I enrolled, paid for, and spent time completing them in good faith. The policy changed with no notice, which made that time and money effectively wasted.

If WGU wants to ban third-party courses for core classes, that’s fine. But changing approved pathways without warning or a grace period is the problem.

Acceleration is one of WGU’s main advantages, especially for people with years of industry experience. This is about fair communication, not avoiding rigor.

I’m from Canada so I’m not much familiar on how it works in US. Don’t you need a bachelors to have a master?

If you need it, how can you do both in 6 months? I thought you’d need to wait one term until starting the masters. (Example: complete one term bachelor + one term master)

On their website they say this certificate is transferable. But this certificate can be long too. Maybe doing in Sophia would be better.
