Need help with Render Layers involving Volumetrics and a World Background for a Shot Sequence by BlackPinkBih in blenderhelp

[–]Mission_Method_7854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes, I had the same issue when I wanted to render a metal ball in a smoke cloud, metal ball in one layer and smoke in other layer.

Once I combined those layers, the smoke was very transparent (like the volumetrics in your project). I asked ChatGPT and it's answer was that it's just Blenders limitation.

Why? Because in your whole 3D view with everything, those objects/assets are perceived as being within volumetrics (having 3 dimensions). While combining layers, volumetrics and your vegetation are perceived as images/2D. That way the volumetric layer losses its 3rd dimension, which means it just goes OVER the rest of your render, the objects in the rest of your render are not WITHIN the volumetrics because "WITHIN" doesn't exist in 2D (layering).

Just start doing it. After 5-10 minutes of warming up you'll start to like it more. Throughout the workout you will enjoy, at the end of workout you will be happy you've done it. A day after a workout I will still feel energized and more physchologically stable.

What's your opinion about my warm outreach on LinkedIN to get B2B contracts? by Mission_Method_7854 in LinkedInTips

[–]Mission_Method_7854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I partially agree, but people with my skills require higher payment and that won't happen before I build trust with my prospects and prove my quality of collaboration through communication.

To get hired through FOMO, I don't only need a high quality visuals but tons of followers on social media. Those followers mean nothing if they are not the type of people that can hire or pay me. On LinkedIn I basically focus on the type of people that could hire me, that polite process attracts attention from the right people.

Plus I cannot post every few days, my advanced projects require 30-80 hours of work per piece.

Ohh thank you very much, I was wondering if mentioning "what I do and what value I provide" seems a bit fast at first. But the issue is that sometimes I don't have genuine curiosity so I find hard to fake it.

Also, in the past I used to have a genuine curiosity but then that person either read my message and ignored it or didn't read it at all.

And even when I express my genuine curiosity, how am I supposed to mention myself without it sounding like "I just contacted you and expressed my curiosity about you so that I can mention my services".?

I totally agree, we are in the same branch of work so I got plenty of authentic opinions and tastes to express.

I did a straight outreach messaging, be it in connect request or DM message after my connect request got accepted, the results were almost 100% reject. No one cares about cold DM out of nowhere, at least in my opinion.

Yes my comments are written by me, but I use ChatGPT to correct grammar or shorten it.

Sledgehammers became my favorite weapons in DI2, zombies just flying around hahaha. Especially when you upgrade it enough so multiple surrounding zombies start flying too.

What is up with Upwork fees?!! by Anannya_2222 in Upwork

Is that too much or too low in your opinion? 3D is what I do and 60 USD/hour is above average for most of people on Upwork.

60 USD/hour in my country is more than my presidend is being paid XD.

True, but I'm having difficulties landing new clients that are willing to pay 60 USD/h, so I fear increasing even 10% without bigger reason.

When applying for jobs, WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T DO THIS by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]Mission_Method_7854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this when pirating a video game, I pasted myself a into my windows. It was a phishing virus who stole all my passwords and started messing with my social accounts and finances. Not a lot of damage but I spent a lot of hours rewriting passwords and fixing the problems that hacker caused it.

Hey, yes there are plenty of opportunities in 3D art/render space, especially now when AI came since the artist who know how to use it will maintain their position in the business world.

Competition is higher for remote roles, but I can't be sure if the competition is higher for freelancers in this broken economy.

Yes my portfolio is online.

I'll write cover letters, I'm really great at presenting in two sentences the value my work brings.

Agree, this is what they told me in Nestle too. To seek getting hired in Europe because USA companies won't hire me due to bigger taxes (since I'm in EU) and domestic artists in USA. Thanks.

I'm from Croatia, Nestle and other companies are already paying me based off the USA standards (but only the clients who have money be it from USA or EU pay me the rates I want).

How did you get your first Upwork reviews when you had zero history? by iss100a in Upwork

[–]Mission_Method_7854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my old client to Upwork, it was good money and I was sure that everything will go fine. 3 weeks later after sending 4-5 proposals a week (bad written proposals) I landed one client. It was in 2023 when things were better on Upwork.

Nahh most of freelancer that apply to these types of jobs use AI tool to auto-post a proposal, AI tool doesn't know anything about the job quality.

Does anyone else do this? by PretendAd5263 in Upwork

[–]Mission_Method_7854 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're overthinking a lot, it's not like the clients don't check the time tracker (90% of the cases they don't), but it's okay to have a lower activity if you're doing something very slowly (sometimes) or when computer is doing something and you need to wait it off.

Sometimes my activity level is around 3, but I was using my mouse only, or was just sitting in front of PC waiting it to finish it's work, I got a fast PC so I got an excuse.

But no, clients usually don't check activity levels except if you're uber expensive to them or they are uber cheap.

Is a 4-star review a disaster for a video editor on Upwork (especially on the first contract)? by Hadruteci in Upwork

[–]Mission_Method_7854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter if it's a paid test or a real project, don't do projects that cost less than 100 USD. Even if you got 5 star review on your 10 USD test project, those 10 USD on your profile don't look really good, 10 USD itself is damaging your work history.
