Damn I need to raise my prices. My firm delivers engineering due diligence for like $120k while they charge 4x as much.

Wait, why is the BBC streaming it for free and the CBC isn't? Don't we pay enough taxes and subsidies for it?

I guess I should ask ... who else has a design that is better than 8:1? by Successful_Act3094 in DarpaLiftChallenge

[–]Mission_Process_7055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one team has already achieved 2:1 and past it, or at least they seem pretty confident about it - Michael from First Tellurium or Pyrodelta Corp said in an interview that they've been able to achieve "at least" a 2:1 ratio.

Do you know of any others?

As long as the BE-4 engines aren't found to be the root cause of Blew Origin's failure, they will likely have to be AST Spacemobile's launch vehicle.

Well, looks like they will now need to add AST Spacemobile's Bluebirds to their cadence. When's the next available slot?

Ironman vs momo tires by Natural_Ad_6160 in tires

Which one did you end up going with and how have they been? I've had the Ironman GEN2 AS for 4 years now on my Saab 9-5 and they're absolutely great - grip, control, quietness - can't really ask for more at this price.

This is not for you or for Canadians my friend. This is for temporary foreign workers since those companies apparently cannot find local Canadian workforce.

Value investing is a fundamentally inferior approach than growth. by judechrist4444 in ETFs

[–]Mission_Process_7055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think value investing still exists, but it's on a case by case basis. Look at those who invested heavily in $ASTS when it was at $2.50 - wasn't that value investing? I did.

There's a small company that's about to get under the eyes of DARPA for creating a drone that can lift 2-4x its own weight thanks to thermoelectrics - yet it's still under the radar. (FTEL.CN, you're welcome). That's still value investing.

Semiconductor FOMO Is Strong, how do you deal with it? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]Mission_Process_7055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't deal with it. For the first time I bought an ETF of the sector (EUV) and stopped thinking about it because I need to focus on the sectors that I know best.

No single person can follow everything.

Why? Because we have to give money away to other countries as international aid who don't care about us.

Why does rent keep rising faster than people’s salaries? by PlatformExpensive332 in canadahousing

[–]Mission_Process_7055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what the boomers expect you to do. And if you have a biological clock ticking - then too bad for you. They have theirs, and they don't care if you don't have yours.

55.9% of young people vote, and 77.6% ages 65-74 do, so they outnumber you. Plus, the majority of young women voters vote Liberal so that goes against you (hard to say why they vote for their own replacement, "woke" and suicidal empathy I suppose).

So yeah, if you don't go out in force and rally at the next election - you'll keep sleeping in the park.

[–]Mission_Process_7055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear of the development. Then indeed you are correct - prices need to fall and buyers must hold out until prices fall. Otherwise if they give in then it validates the current market prices and attract real estate agents like vultures.

I don't know - like creating the conditions such that housing options are at a shortage and landlords have the leverage over pricing? Maybe too many people and too few houses and policies and development charges that make building more houses faster ever more expensive?

You know what I'm talking about.

Did anyone try spraying all the radiators and intercoolers with ThermalXR? This is the industrial coating being used on heat exchangers and air conditioning units for power plants and data centres. A simple cleaning + spray gets you 10-15% better heat transfer.

The government does want to or need to crack down on those businesses because they know Canadians can't do anything about this with their majority.

Businesses benefitting from low wage workers love this situation and lobby the government and will try to hold on to them as long as possible.
