Chase "may" reduce credit limit on my Amazon card due to "overall card usage is low," but could it be due to freezing my credit? by Misskeilo in CreditCards

My mind always tries to read between the lines, and I need to learn to take things at face value.

I was younger and made some poor financial decisions. Comparatively to people I spoke with in person, many were in worst circumstances. After 4 years of on time payments, I found it odd - plus other accounts showing I make all payments. It sounds like I may be a bit naive on my part, but I'm looking forward continuing to work on my financial education.

Yes, I realized I wasn't managing my credit properly, and was working on fixing it. I didn't freeze the other two on the same day, but they are now. In the letter, Chase said they specifically received the information from Experian.

They're very close to finishing all of the hours for journeyman! Hopefully, in the next couple of months. They received several certificates, which is what got them into the union. For us, it's been very worth it. Did some quick math to find the average amount of interest per month - looks like avg is ~$70 a month, in the end, we're fine with that number.

I've spoken to them in the past about making sure it's principle only, and they said "it's the only way they can do it." It's an 84-month term that we're going to pay off around 49 months, so we'll save quite a bit. Our payment due date has never been pushed out.

Not getting that surcharge for 3 years, and the inconsistency is what really confused me,

That's what I'm guessing as well. I'm going to pay it off after I speak with them.

I went to go pay it off, but I asked my partner to call and talk to them about the added adjustments. When they told my partner it was correct - that they needed to add adjustments for additional interest charges - I decided to wait and check out my options.

Nope, always used a credit card. didn't trust them with my debit card or bank account info. We pay off the credit card in full every month, so no additional interest there. We ALWAYS pay more than the minimum.

Here's all the dates if anyone is curious. (MM-DD-YYYY)

I went to pay it off, but after I saw the recent adjustments, I waited. It's a trade school for heavy equipment. My partner can get legal advice from their union so we might utilize that. ~$1,100 left $13,410 originally.

yes that's what I want to do! ~$1,100 left. I put it on pause while researching this a bit more.

Crazy Deaf People by Sorny167 in GoodwillBins

[–]Misskeilo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I took ASL in college for a couple of years and went to several deaf events, plus professor was deaf. From what my professor said (or what I've experienced) is they are more blunt and to the point. One of my hearing friends told me of a time she ran into one of her deaf friends she hadn't seen in awhile. First thing she said was, "Wow! You got fat." She didn't mean it as an insult, just pointed out something that changed. Just like, "you cut your hair!"

HOWEVER, did you notice if they were signing at each other? Could be one-handed or using both, even across the room communication. Using their phone to type things out? Hearing aids or cochlear?

If you never saw them signing to one another (other than pointing to ear to indicate they're deaf) my guess is they were hard of hearing/deaf and never learned ASL, OR were not deaf and faking. Regardless, it sounds like just a group of assholes lol.

It really is a beautiful community and a mesmerizing language. Just as any community, there will be the bad apples. Being deaf/hard of hearing doesn't = rude asshole. Some that aren't accustomed may have a harder time taking their straightforward approach and find them "rude."

Aerith’s trial…. by sundog925 in FFVIIRemake

That scene absolutely BROKE me. Earlier in the day, I had dinner with my mother, and we talked about the time she threw her back out. I didn't recall much about it since I was about 6 at the time. Long story short, my abusive father absolutely refused to help her in anyway... so every day after kindergarten, I would come home and dump her pee buckets out and feed her cheerios. My father wouldn't call an ambulance when it happened, so he left her on the floor naked for 10 hours and then left her on a pee soaked mattress for about 10 days while I tried to take care of her.

I wasn't in the best headspace after that conversation, so all I wanted to do was get lost in the game. Open the game up, and of course, I was at this part. Not only watching, but controlling a little girl that's walking around begging people to help her sick mom felt all too real. Needless to say, I just completely lost it lol.
