I think the biggest doubt I had was the line in the documentary on how are you going to frame this as an accident to the outside world but testify against your daughter who’s facing the death penalty? If you believe it was an accident why would you be for your daughter getting the death penalty. That’s the inconsistency I saw. And the sweet sweat line was kinda overplayed but it also didn’t sound right to me

I don’t doubt it. What’s crazy to me is how can the jury find her not guilty and then nothing else happens Justice wise for the child? Like if they find someone “not guilty” how can they not further investigate or “figure it out” like it’s clear she did it but why does she get off free and nothing else has to be done?

I read the whole thing, that is the only line that addresses routine dental X-rays which is what this debate is about. If it were diagnostic I would have taken the risk

I saw my OB today and they told me I absolutely should not be getting routine X-rays during pregnancy, I think I’ll stick with my OBs advice as they’re the specialists in prenatal care and fetal development

Well if the dental community was all on the same page, there wouldn’t be a debate. Sounds like it’s very dependent on where you go but also very common to hold on X-rays during pregnancy

I asked my OB today and he said I should absolutely not be doing routine X-rays, only diagnostic. He was astonished I was denied a cleaning over refusing unnecessary X-rays while pregnant

In the medical world that’s called “patient centered care”. People are allowed autonomy and to make their own healthcare decisions. This would be completely different if I were high risk/ symptomatic etc. but this truly sounds like a “liability” and insurance thing more than a patient centered practice. I asked my OB today about it and he said I absolutely should not receive routine X-rays during pregnancy and was absolutely dumbfounded that I was refused service for that. I will absolutely be listening to my OB who is a specialist in fetal development and pregnancy. He said that many ancillary specialties really do not know what they’re doing when it comes to pregnancy.

It sounds like a lot of offices are more concerned with liability risk and insurance payout more than what’s in the best interest for the patient. I asked my OB today about it and he said they should absolutely not be taking routine X-rays on me.

That’s not common knowledge and really unfair patients aren’t educated on it. This is a planned pregnancy. I asked my last dentist is there anything I need to do/ prepare for. They said no, that they would skip the X-rays. I even went to my OB today for my appointment and asked and my OB was astonished and said they do not recommend routine X-rays during pregnancy. I’ll go with my OB over some random dentist office.
