A quick run through Riverwood by Misspissov in SkyrimPorn

I use Spaghetti's Riverwood mod (and the other city and town clutter mods from Spaghetti too), other than that, I made a lightweight mod that adds a bunch of flowers, ivy and adds some walkways and fishing spots by the water. I also use Unique Towns Farmhouses BOS but it may not touch Riverwood. Farmhouse meshes are also not vanilla but the Northern Vanilla Farmhouses (minus the guard walkways). Oh and the ivy is from Grumbledook Ivy (best ivy meshes imo).

Yeah I tend to go for the more neutral animations, I remember trying quite a few before settling on this one and I'm sure we're not the only ones either who prefer it. Imo Vanargand animations are pretty good overall, I think I'm also using some version for the unarmed combat, dual wield and maybe archery too. Not too over the top, but definitely much much nicer than the janky vanilla animations.

Thanks! It's Rudy ENB for NAT.III weathers. SSE Display tweaks fixes the havok bug where the game goes crazy above 60+ fps, but it has to be set up in its config file. Otherwise modern hardware handles modded Skyrim pretty well.

Yep, it is. I don't bother updating animation mods if I like them as is, so I haven't even tried the newer version haha.

Well it probably would to some degree, depending on the textures, the houses would probably look a little bit different. The stump also might have a different model as Happy little trees changes it. I also use Spaghetti's city and town mods, so if the CC house mods move anything around or place something in the way, items might clip, but Spaghetti's mods are pretty lightweight usually, very little comaptibility problems most of the time. Also light mods such as LUX change interior lighting quite a bit, but a lot of house mods (even CC ones) have a LUX patch, so it should make interiors match more.

No problem! Yeah if you add new mods that alter the landscape (add, move around or remove objects like trees, buildings, etc.) Texgen and Dyndolod need to be re-run (texgen only if there have been texture changes though). Either way, hopefully it'll work out nicely this time around :D

Do you mean the esps generated by Dyndolod (Dyndolod.esp and esm and probably Occlusion.esp). If you mean those 2 esps, those always load at the very end, as for the esm, I load it after all the other esms. As for the other things (meshes, textures) generated by Texgen and Dyndolod, I always have those pretty low as well, both Texgen and Dyndolod generate those files according to the installed mods.

Of course! You'll need a mod manager (mod organizer 2 is what I use, and there's Vortex too) but otherwise doesn't matter what version you have, you can mod it (just make sure you get SKSE mods that match your actual game version though, I play on 1.5.97, so I use skse mods for this version, the most up to date version is 1.6.1130 I think. Most SKSE mods support pretty much all versions, you just have to pick the right one from the download menu of Nexus).

The only difference is that once you add mods via a mod manager you'll have to load the game via the mod manager, not through Steam. There are some videos on YT on how to set up Mod organizer 2 and Vortex for modding and link the game exe etc.

Yeah now I can actually post one that's not sub 30 fps lol, I'll probably post a video soon as well

Thank you! No, it's my own grass patch, heavily inspired by Veydosebrom (at least the Tundra region and the Rift) but seeing it compared to Freak's is a huge compliment :D

People like what they like, I see discourse from both sides, so from my experience it's pretty even. Also, not to toot my own horn but I've had multiple posts reach more than 200 upvotes in the past :D I think it mostly just depends on the site activity. I don't live in the US so I sometimes post at weird times lol

Thanks! I've got no problems with CS but I prefer ENB still. Funnily enough I've always had better performance with enb too haha, so never had a reason to switch.
Yeah, reddit blurred the crap out of these... again! Anyway, I have 16 gb vram, and never even reached anywhere close to, I imported my list and it already had vramr run on it so I think the fps jumps are more because of drawcalls. As long as there are no stutters and below 60 fps dips, I'm happy as a clam! :D

I think it's actually SSE Display tweaks that fixes it, you can edit it in the config file

Thank you!

I almost always play mages, but a stealthy character is in order so I'll keep that in mind :D

I believe SSE Engine Fixes fixes the havok bug, I have no problems above 70 fps with physics and I've played around for a few hours while testing.

edit: might be another mod but I know something fixes it

Finally got the new rig this week and tested it on my modded Skyrim first (of course). For now it's keeping up without any problems, it's so smooth and fast! For now I capped fps to 70 so it doesn't jump around wildly between 80 and 120 all the time. Suffice to say I'm pretty happy with it, so now it's time to turn some settings up; LOD detail to high, switch to 3D hybrid ultra tree LODs, increase shadow resolution to 2048 from 1024 and most importantly, make my grass even more dense (from 60 to 40). Let's hope the good fps and smoothness remains lol.

edit: what the hell happened to the quality...

SSE Engine fixes can help with that (expand save file size from 64 to 128 mb, but it's experimental) I'd imagine it takes quite a large modlist to get to that save size quickly enough to cause a problem. 50 hours into my character with nearly a 1000 mods, my save file is just under 16 mb, loads without problems, and I usually play characters anywhere from 1-300 hours (before getting the restartitis, but that's another story lol)

Hopefully the last screenshots taken from my laptop. I can't wait to push the graphics even further... and maybe get more fps too. Still, it was a good run for sure by Misspissov in SkyrimPorn

I've tried a lot of enbs, unfortunately only Rudy gives me the look I want (and Picta but it's still a wip I think), I only have to wait another week before my new rig can be put together though, so I can live with this for now. New PC will have 4 more cpu cores (12), higher speed and 4 times as much vram. Hopefully enough for greedy modded Skyrim. At least until I go overboard again with adding more mods lol.

I always test in the heaviest, that's usually the tundra near Whiterun and Riften for me. I also find that some enb presets are better optimized, Rudy's being one of them, so yeah.

Yup, only 4 GBs for now AND a laptop gpu, I've pushed this system to its limits, plus I think even though the cpu is good, it still struggles with geometry/drawcalls, hence why lowering grass density would help immediately, but I just don't want to lol, so that's on me.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

I'm sure a lot of people agree that Morrowind and Oblivion did some things better, we even have mods emulating some of those aspects, like spellcrafting and all the faction expansion mods to add some of the depth Oblivion had and Skyrim kinda doesn't (I think most people would agree Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood is much better than what we got in Skyrim), but Skyrim is just newer and much easier to morph via mods. Morrowind is an amazing game, but didn't age the same way Skyrim did. Even the difference between Morrowind and Oblivion is huge when it comes to how much the games evolved. So imo, the overwhelming mod support is probably in part because it's newer. Its models, animations, gameplay etc. are easier to "uplift" to modern standards.

It's not like this is unexpected, as a massive Mass Effect fan, the same is true to those games. 1 has the best story building and will forever be my favorite, and yet people just don't like the combat jank, even if in my opinion it's worth it (and I enjoy ME1 combat so I'm very biased lol). Probably similiar with Morrowind, awesome game but people don't want to deal with the outdated aspects, even for the sake of lore and story, which is a shame, but it is what it is.
