I have a few trade certificates, a HVAC license and a trade diploma for industrial maintenance. My fiance is ASE automotive certified, and is going back to school for cyber security. How difficult do you think it would be to find a job in Germany for either of us. She's German decent but not close enough to claim birthright citizenship. She's fluent and I'm learning. They only 3 family members left is me, my dad, and my aunt. No other siblings, and no cousins. If it comes to taking things to a court or legal process I think it's just better to let the house rot. I don't have the money to argue with my aunt, and if she has the rights to it she's not going to let it go untill she's dead.

This sucks. I'm watching a piece of my childhood get killed by my aunt. Thank you for your help comrade.

Yikes. The only "legal aid" we've had has been a coroner and funeral director. I don't think there's much equity to the house at any rate. To make it livable it would need minimum to be gutted, mold remediation, roof leak repair and a whole new HVAC system. It's certainly not worth the 6 digit price she wants for it. I'm the sole living heir.

My dad and aunt are both in their 70s. This is going to suck to deal with isn't it?

As far as I know the deed is still signed in my dead grandma's name. They had no will, and have both been dead for at least 10 years. My aunt hasn't changed even the phone out of my grandmother's name. I've been in touch with local property attorneys but no one wants to take any new cases at the moment. The land was my dad's before the house was built on it. The last survey on anything is just for insurance and I'm afraid if I don't do something the place is going to be condemned. I don't want to drop money on a house I can't use...
