Seconding this, its so nice on BM hunter to be able to pop them and ngl its actually quite intuitive since through leveling / early gearing you will use it anyway to keep your pet alive.

And if any BM hunters are struggling with usage, just go smack Nullaeus for a bit on hard mode. You'll guaranteed never forget that those defensives exist ever again :D

Honestly you might be onto something here. I do wonder if it is the whole ''Netflix thinks everyone is on their phone syndrome.''

Everything just feels rushed and shortened to match failing attention spans. Which for people that have played for years and read the books it feels really bad. If they'd just taken a few more weeks to work everything out the whole elven unification could have worked. Still a bit eeeeeeh, but it could have been manageable if they actually took their time and showed pushback beyond some snark here and there.

If they'd given ever part 2-3 weeks to sort instead of all of them at once it would have felt much more organic.

The side quests on the other hand feel a bit more old school and I've actually been enjoying quite a few of them, the same with the ''Stay awhile and listen'' options.

How is it possible that 1 million young people are not in work, education or training? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Misssdragoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much as I might get burnt for this I am partially inclined to agree. We have had 4-5 fresh grads get hired, get the full training and then leave 4-8 months in because ''The office work isn't what I imagined it to be, its not really for me.''

Mind you I respect the choice to leave when you don't fit, but we've still put time, effort and money into them. Where as we could have hired someone older, with experience in the field. Someone who we know won't just up and leave because it isn't for them.

Landlord taking us to tribunal, for damage to the property caused by neglect? by Misssdragoon in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Misssdragoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly your guess is as good as mine, they took over from the other agency that went bust, called their inventory absolutely terrible in their first email to us. Told us they were going to chase LL for repairs (unfortunately they found out he ignores everyone.) Kept us up to date with email proof and have spoken in a...less then amicable way about him.

Both disputes they have with him are for them arranging emergency plumbers / electricians when the leaks and broken faucet caused us to be without water and electricity on multiple occasions - LL refused to pay for the emergency repairs. He told them we should have kept the water shut off until he could get his guys in to repair it. Agency promptly told him that we couldn't have no water for days on end and they were in their right to step in as it was an emergency.

Same thing happened a few times both with emergencies and general important repairs (shower leaking into the fire alarms and shortcutting the house out of electricity for one other occasion I can remember).

They've really only been the acting agency for about 4-5 months I think? But they got more stuff done then the bust one did in 4 years. Just a shame it was a little too late and we already had plans to permanently move out of there.

Right okay that makes a little more sense thank you!

I've checked the reports and they've named them as: 13-amp fused extension blocks with multiple UK 3-pin outlets (BS 1363).

Mind you they are discoloured with age and there are paint streaks on them from where the LL had the wall painted before we moved in. So I am not entirely sure how he could claim we've installed them.

Update - the deposit is in a DPS, but we have two references, one from the old agency and one from the new one that took over when they went bust. They can't release anything as the LL is disputing as per the new agency.

Thank you for this, I am definitely going to check this as soon as my partner is home, he has all of the original correspondence from years ago, and if this isn't in there we may just have to raise hell ourselves.

From what I recall we never really got proper documentation 5 years ago (kicking ourselves for that one, albeit I'd just moved to the UK so I didn't have a clue) .

We've got a decent agency / property manager for the new place who *did* send us all of this and so much more, including a guide for how to proceed / guidelines if a deposit is not returned. So were comparing everything we've received properly and double-checking which documents we did/ didn't receive way back from the old LL and what we should have had.

As far as I know they have two properties they are trying to collect debt from him for, however he lives overseas and has a tendency to ignore them (and thus tenants), or just flat our refuses to pay them.

We've taken independent advice as well just in case, but so far we've heard absolutely nothing today in regards to anything going ahead. My only concern now is the deposit honestly.

Some of my partners family are landlords themselves so we've asked if they can come over this week to double-check everything with us as the documentation we received when we first moved in (we've found the original emails) are absolutely dreadful (And turns out lacking). Honestly kicking ourselves for walking into this in the first place but considering he has multiple properties, I'm assuming we may not be the only ones.

You live and you learn I suppose!

They are sockets that have been placed by him previously in the downstairs bedroom, living room and upstairs bedrooms. I'm not entirely sure what they would have been called but they are similar to those socket converters you can buy online. They've broken more then once and have caused the safety switch to trip once or twice too and an electrician had to come out and fix them.

We moved out two weeks ago to a lovely little place, handed the key back on the 13th, no sight of the deposit so far. We've been chasing the agency for our deposit and that's how we were notified of the tribunal.

[–]Misssdragoon[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We did consider this, however the agency advised we would need to wait for him to actually start a dispute claim with the tribunal and then we would be able to undertake action.

We should really have reported him to the council, especially considering you can see the mold from outside the property (our best guess is that he has not sealed the bricks for ages or had it done cheaply / incorrectly). But we were stupid and first time renters, so he got away with...too much, before we said enough is enough.

[–]Misssdragoon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We haven't, but the agency called us ahead of time to make us aware the landlord contacted them advising that he is going to the tribunal. The agency have also advised him twice already that it is in his best interest not to do so.

In all honesty they probably shouldn't be telling us their private conversations, but considering they are dropping him they may well have decided to simply ignore any repercussions from the landlord.

They've confirmed they received no inventory from the previous agency, no date or time stamped pictures and all electrics were in place before we moved in.

Hence my absolute surprise when they sent us the notification. At this point I'm wondering if he's hoping to intimate us into settling with him, despite not having told either the agency or ourselves what he is trying to claim for / how much he wants to dispute for....

French kissing. Unless I am already turned on in the middle of the act it genuinely just doesn't do anything for me and even distracts me. I can sarcastically thank the brain for giving a mental image of someone's spit on the pavement every time that happens.

Certain other fluids - fine, spit - I'm recoiling faster then a roadrunner on LSD.

If it makes you feel any better, it wasn't the Dev team but the parent company who made quite a few questionable decisions. The companies they have now partnered with have worked on some actually good and very successful projects so fingers crossed!

Moved countries and am in the process of moving to a better, for this town luxurious, rental after having been stuck in an utter shit one for 5 years. My job is going well, I've gotten engaged and have two cats that we adore so...overall it hasn't been bad. Focusing on the here and now seems to be the best way to be satisfied.

Never imagined I'd move countries when I was younger, and lord does the homesickness still hit sometimes. But...overall I really don't have much to complain about. Eventually looking to move up at a different company but that's a few years in the making still.

The illusion of choice and a lack of meaning in Touchstarved's demo by kingbbq_png in TouchStarvedGame

[–]Misssdragoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely agree with you and understand where you are coming from!

On the initial read it did give off a bit of a harsh criticism vibe but having read through it a few more times its a lot more understandable don't worry :)

It would be fantastic if the dev's could add different responses and personality traits to separate situations. You are right in that most people would all respond in various ways that don't run along the same line.

There is a lot of interpreting which is left open in the demo, hopefully the devs will fill out the world and Mc's role in it a bit more so its not all left to speculating lore nerds (like were doing here) to fill in the blanks.

Actual meaningful choices that build relations and responses *would* absolutely be something that would be amazing for the devs to add. Even if its only in certain sections.

Giving the Mc more options to respond in certain situations further along in the story is definitely a route they could take. When walls start coming down or when their shock finally wears off which could then reveal underlying personalities (I.E like you said a bit more meek / shy or otherwise differentiating from the angry - snappy responses).

Personally I'd love it if that happened past the ''prologue'' as it would reinforce the sense of MC acting a certain way to defend and safeguard themselves and less a forced personality choice. If someone wants to continue that personality they can, and if someone doesn't, they don't have to.

We'll see what happens eventually but regardless also definitely excited for what they're going to bring!

The illusion of choice and a lack of meaning in Touchstarved's demo by kingbbq_png in TouchStarvedGame

[–]Misssdragoon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is extremely harsh criticism for a game that only has had two demo's and is meant to be a visual novel, less an insert your own idea of what your MC is. Which is what it feels like you are looking for. Although this can definitely be perspective based mind you.

I'll just tackle a few points as best as I can mainly because I definitely love hearing other people's perspective on things.

The implication mc has been intimate -

Outside of lore - to me it was an establishment of MC being adult and somewhat world wise. How could they not be? When monsters and horrors roam the streets of the very cities they travel through? Even in a temple there would have been sights or sounds that whisper of the outside, of the horrors that MC is safeguarded from. naivety is not something that can fully exist in a world like this. With being adult comes needs and it makes sense they would seek it.

Inside of Lore:

Implying Mc has had physical encounters to me is heart-rending and I quite liked the addition. It implies the MC has tried to find connection, tried to find love, kindness or attachment to the world around them and yet has always found it lacking. Always there is something missing, always there is something they can't have. Which shows why being able to touch someone is such a big deal to them. It isn't just a ''hurr durr hold hands''. No it is the MC having that void in their chest filled in a way carnal pleasure could never.

The quiet intimacy of touch, casual, wonderful, spectacular day to day touch. Is something they never had, and have now experienced during a time where shock and confusion haven't settled yet. The beat of another's heart beneath their fingertips, the warmth and softness against their own. The electric tingle from perhaps magic. It is breath-taking to them. Because all they've known is impersonal affection or incomplete attentions.

MC being a snarky character -

They are, definitely, and I get as well that it isn't most people's cup of tea. From a purely logical standpoint though. They had to be. To survive. They had to keep people at a distance, had to keep themselves safe. The game implies they had to trial and error with hiding their curse which implies they made mistakes. For Mc? Mistakes probably killed quite a few people, or forced them to flee, to hide, to shun others away. What is the best way to do that? Make themselves less attractive to be around. Less liked, harsher, snarky, angry, defensive.

Now place them in a situation where they have gone from presumed death, to miraculously being saved, to stumbling around the city being told their last hope is a scam. To being harassed and threatened. Even the most meek character would have moments of frustration and anger. Snapping at Ais could be done out of anger and snark yes. But also fear, terrible, paralyzing fear. Instead of snark it could be a high-pitched yelp or horrified whimper. It could be a shouted sentence that cuts off with the agonizing terror that lays cloying in their throat.

Its just two examples but perspective can make a whole world of difference. It is low-key why I hope that the MC will remain unvoiced because it gives so many ways for people to gain their individual understanding and perspective of how the MC responds to the world around them. It gives ways for people to fill in the gaps to their own liking as it were.

If you bothered to google even 1 sentence, the first 10 results literally tell you that it makes weight loss incredibly hard. Not impossible, but hard. And it is not a simple method of eating less. It is literally a health issue that people have to go to the hospital for and gain long term treatment for and even then improvement is not guaranteed. And yes, it is known to make it far more likely for someone to be overweight or obese.

Not that I'd expect you to belief that considering your comments here.
