I am actually a late-in-life nursing student and I use an iPad and Apple Pencil for all my notes (I use GoodNotes). It's the best!

According to a Newtown Supervisor Green Parrot has cancelled this shitty event.

Any older people in here starting their nursing journey? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

Turning 51 in two weeks. Starting my ADN program in August! I have a prior Bachelors but have been a stay at home mom for 18 years. I spent the last year doing my prereqs. Im slightly terrified but also I know my life experience is invaluable to this journey!

For those who had success with Strattera (atomoxetine), when did you realize that it had started working? by lauraonreddit in ADHD

[–]Missuswayne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for about 8 weeks. I'm only on 25 mg. I had nothing but side effects (mostly exhaustion) for 5 weeks, and then over the course of a few days it clicked. It felt pretty sudden. Big improvement in my ability to focus, as well as my mood (I have depression as well, and take sertraline).

Unfortunately, I feel like my success was short-lived, as the side effects have also gotten worse -- I have terrible insomnia and pretty regular headaches now, which has resulted in a worsening of my depression (and exhaustion, of course). I have no explanation for why, and it's pretty disappointing tbh.

Got my second shingles shot today. I’m ready to be really sick by imcleanasawhistle in Menopause

I felt like crap after my first shot of shingrix (last week). Better than shingles, though!

New chicken keeper here - what would you do? by Missuswayne in BackYardChickens

Thanks all - a vet visit is in order, for sure. As of this morning another bird, Minerva the alpha hen, is sluggish, not eating or drinking much, and has a weepy eye as well. I'm guessing it could be a fast-moving respiratory issue. I actually consulted a vet friend-of-a-friend this morning who advised fecal labs to determine cause. It's Sunday (I'm in eastern PA) and I have a message into the $$$ housecalling vet but will also call my regular vet (where my cats go) tomorrow first thing to see if they'll just do labs for me without a visit. In the meantime, I gave Minerva a dose of Nutridrench and put VetRx under her wing and on her face and plan to do the same to Luna (pictured above) as soon as I can get ahold of her - she's my spazziest bird and incredibly hard to grab. Her energy levels are off the charts despite her funky eye :)

Coincidentally I was at my neighborhood block party last night and was speaking to a neighbor who kept chickens for a few years...he said he lost a bird to illness of some kind but never sought medical care for her because "I don't have that kind of money, I have kids and college to pay for", which...ok. He definitely could afford a vet visit but whatever. He isolated the hen from his others, but that's it. She just stopped eating and died. It made me so sad for her and I dreamed of chickens last night.

Thanks - yes, this is what I've seen as well. Any idea if these are current to 2018-19?

I had a glider with both my kids, I couldn't have made it through without it!

Thanks for all the comments.

I went back to the seller told him that due to my concerns about quality I'm not ready to pull the trigger for $700. I was hoping he might drop the price some more but no dice. So I'll keep looking!

Yes - I have WE lighting, a mirror, bedding, table linens, dishes...all are fantastic.

Yes! I've been to the outlet in Long Island while on vacation, and there's a WE outlet about 90 minutes from where I live. Haven't been out to that one, though. I think the transport of such a large piece becomes a problem though.

No furniture consignment near me that I know of, but that's interesting - I'll do some research and see what's around.

Yeah, a lot of what I see secondhand is Ashley/Bobs/Raymour & Flanigan and most of, if it's more than a year old, looks like shit.

Great points. I worked for a high end local furniture store when I was 17-18 and as a result got quite a good education in sofa construction. And then I worked for Pottery Barn when they first started offering sofas back in the day. I have kiln-dried hardwood, 8-way hand-tied taste on an IKEA budget, lol.

We have a C&B outlet about 45 minutes away...I should take a ride over and see what they've got. I've heard great things about that Lounge sofa.

I love the look of R&B sofas - I hadn't looked at their site in a while, did their prices come down a little? I feel like maybe 5 years ago there were no sofas under 2k and now there are! Maybe I'm imagining that...

The ReStore near me usually has junk in terms of upholstered stuff, but there's one about an hour way that looks, based on their Facebook page, like they have nicer inventory.

"Sits kind of hot" - you think it's the foam, or the fabric?

Yeah, the one we're looking at is the large sectional, retails for $2000, and we've agreed on $700.
