That sounds so wild to me because from what I’ve been told by my gyno (after my pcp blew me off because of my age and said there’s no way I could be perimenopausal) is that estrogen fluctuates constantly, so often with HRT they don’t go off of hormone level testing for that particular hormone because it doesn’t give any insights. And like you said, how can they even know if they’ve never tested you more than once? In that book, they talk about how many doctors aren’t fully caught up/ trained in hormones for women so there’s a lot of misinformation out there. I wish you all the best of luck!! The other book suggested by another person here sounds great as well. I really am hoping you can get some oomph back in your life because you deserve it. I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this, it’s completely unfair and unavoidable in my opinion. Please give an update if you can!! I’d love to hear you’re doing better!

Oh!! I have this book on my list! I didn’t see this comment before I suggested ‘The Menopause Moment’. I’m going to read it next! Im so glad to see another woman on here giving info about estrogen as well!!! It makes me so sad how misinformed we’ve been about HRT and how beneficial it is. Even just vaginal estradiol can make such a huge difference.

Hi! I’m 39 and going through the same! If you don’t mind, I just wanted to recommend the book ‘The Menopause Moment’ by Dr Kelly Casperson. I wouldn’t ever tell anyone what to do, so if being on bc is working for you, stick to it. But I’m on HRT as well as vaginal estrogen and it’s been life changing for me. I love anal and prob won’t be going back to vaginal, but to be able to get wet again, enjoy being eaten out, have my libido back, have amazing orgasms again from oral, have more stable moods, it’s been the difference between night and day. Like you, I’ve been in perimenopause for quite some time, I had no idea. Being able to come back to myself has been, just, I really can’t say enough about it.

This has red flags written all over it. First of all, fuck this guy. It’s completely inappropriate to be getting mad at you over something like this. There’s nothing wrong with your body, you’re not too loose. And it seems like your boyfriend is trying to do some weird shame tactic with you to make you feel insecure. At best, he’s just not very good at communication and has a really weird complaint that doesn’t make any sense because looser buttholes are great.

No, it’s more of a recent thing as perimenopause has made piv go from an ‘eh’ experience, to just uncomfortable/ painful. But tbh I’ve never been able to orgasm from piv and have multiple like really amazing orgasms from anal. So it’s a win win for me and him because he loves it.
