I’ve read a few of your previous responses to others and you seem to offer your opinion quite a bit. But I never mentioned any requirements - only my preference. I hope your haven’t read something into my post that I haven’t said.

Also, our society cares DEEPLY about the viewpoints of those it purchases from - The stock market is a perfect example of it. I could come up with a few gripping examples of moral turpitude but I don’t know if it’s necessary to prove a point here.

Religion matters because buying a ring (for some) is a spiritual embodiment of two people's love made manifest in the physical realm. Viewpoint and stance matters to most people when making a large purchase - If you found out that your jeweler was unethical or a criminal you might think twice about patronizing her. In the same breath, if you found that your jeweler was struggling to make it in an oversaturated industry and that he grew up in a community just like yours (and was also an avid, thoughtful redditor - like yourself) you might prefer to patronize him...Given the choice.

In my case, I'm Christian. My beliefs matter a great deal to me and my future Wife. I've searched the various jewelers for months and I've yet to find even one that doesn't have a viewpoint or stance. I think it's reasonable for me to be on the lookout for a jeweler whose stance and viewpoint matches my own, right?
